Here's a dilemma I never thought I'd face.

Preface: recently I had a foundation put under my mobile in an effort to sell it.

So, my uncle is out on the porch and he asks me to come out. He says, "Stop and listen". And I do... and I hear a cat under the house meowing.

Well, that thing's been closed off for two weeks. I opened up the entryway and called "kitty kitty" but of course I didn't get any kitty to come.

I'm thinking any critter that's been under my house for two weeks without food or water probably wants out and needs something that resembles food or water. So I went to get a board that kitty could use for a ramp to get out.

I came back and actually saw the critter. Very shy, doubtless a feral cat, black with gray highlights. He bolted away from me. I left the board in place so he could climb out.

Short of crawling around under my house with pepper spray, is there anything I can do to humanely evict kitty? I've shot my share of feral cats, but starving one to death is inhumane, IMO.

He, or she? Better hope it didn't have kittens. And with the board, it'll probably leave on its own.

Put some food close to the bottom of the board, and then some on the board, and at the top . . . yeah. Kitty will come out. Poor kitty.

I would also get a hose and maybe make a little puddle of water at the bottom of the board so it doesn't die. And maybe a bowl up top.
