We're totally having a party with a double (or triple, if we can get another game board) game of Pirate's Cove. My son has a treasure chest toy box that we're going to use to house Grape Grog and Root Rum and we'll eat Chips! Ahoy and Marshmallow Matey's cereal. Oh, and my sister is going to bring her parrots, Phoenix and Lucy. Yeah, we have the big plans.

Yesterday I wrote on my whiteboard at work "Sept 19 is Talk Like a Pirate Day!" There have been two main types of reactions. Some people walk by and say "Yarrr!" to which I politely reply "You're early." Other people stop and ask "Why is it TLAPD?" or "Is it really?"

It's depressing that so many people seem to think Hallmark is the only one who gets to create "real" holidays.

The piracy of the jest itself aside, a Rofl from Dan_seagull be somethin' to be proud of indeed. I'll stick it in me hat, by the salty bilge-rat, and tie it down with a strand of seaweed.

Me little buccaneers be wantin' me to share a pirate ship song from those scurvy dogs, The Wiggles. (I be noticin' that tune is a might bit similar to "The Big Ship Sails (Ally-ally-o)", but I don't know whether that be intentional or not. Arrr.)

And me little First mate also be wantin' to take ye all on a tour of one of her favorite Disneyland attractions
