In a pants-wetting announcement, Microsoft dropped the following bombshell a couple minutes ago:
Peter Jackson, creator of Lord of the Rings series of movies, is developing a new series of Halo games for the Xbox 360.
The game will take place in the Halo universe but will not be Halo 3. Jackson promised the thunderous crowd a "filmic game experience."

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! Ill be honest I did not enjoy Halo2 as much as Halo1, I am interested to see what he plans to do with Halo. I really wouldnt want another halo game that just has better graphics, a few more guns, and maybe new vehicles. There really needs to be something MORE.

The trailer for the RTS was all right, although there was a noticeable lack of the atmosphere that Bungie manages to give their games. Not surprising considering that they're farming out the development to Ensemble. And that last line was cringe-worthy, almost as bad as "Finishing this fight."
