I've been hacking coughing since Tuesday night. Wednesday and Thursday, at about 3:30 in the afternoon, my temperature jumps up to about 101.5 (my base temperature is around 97, so that's even higher than it sounds).

Tova had this, and it lasted a week. Same for a friend of hers from school, and same for her friend's mother. I really don't want this to last for a week.

I told my partner that it felt like I was coughing up Torquemada. She asked if it was that torturous. I explained that I knew it couldn't be Torquemada, because... no one expectorates the Spanish Inquisition. I think that was the loudest groan I've ever gotten for a bad pun.

I actually whispered all of that, because I can barely talk, which, actually, I don't think Tova had. Hmm...

I'm stealing that pun!

Feel better soon!

Thanks. I actually got feverish this morning, so I'm staying home. I think it just broke, since I'm completely soaking. I hate this.

I've been sick for a week. I've missed two days of work so far, missed out on a week and a half of fun, and I'm still not better. I got it from my roommate, who teaches elementary school. This is awful. [Frown]

I hope you feel better. I don't know where you live, but they say this has been going around Chicago. Eck.

Oh, do I feel for you. I just got through a cough that lasted a month and a half. I had just decided this would be how the rest of my life would be.

Glad yours will be over sooner. I wish for it to be over even sooner than that. [Wink]

Ha!! Love it. I hope you're feeling better soon!

Lisa, that pun totally blindsided me and got me grinning like an idiot =)

I hope you feel better soon. Try some Aleve. It really helps when I have a fever. And you only have to take it ever 8 hrs or so.

And nobody can Torquemada-vit.

But seriously, Lisa, feel better. I do hope that you have some hard-core chicken soup for Shabbos. And, as a medical professional, I am advising you to limit your time outside in that damp and chilly sukkah to just long enough to make Kiddish, and then you high-tail it back inside and duck under the comfy Afghan. Okay?

It's apparently more effective if you aren't allergic to it. <sigh>

The doctor said there's a 1 in 4 chance that it's bacterial, so I'm taking Zithromax.

I think we may have some turkey soup. That's even better, in my experience.

Aye, aye.

Blind sided by that pun! Brilliant work! If puns are the lowest form of humor I seriously hope that if I enter a persistant vegitative state I do nothing but spout them off.

Definately sounds bacterial [Frown] focus all your energy into phagocyte production! Get your cells to eat those heretic hunting bacteria and expectorate them!

*said in very tiny sheepish voice*: I don't get the pun. (starLisa's, not Tante's . . . I mean, I know who Torquemada was, & that his name is synonomous w/ the Inquisition--what am I missing?)

Um ... Monty Python?

"Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!!!"

Posted by Uprooted (Member # 8353) on :

Oh . . . that would be my ignorance of Monty Python showing, then! [Wink] thanks.

Oh, and feel better soon, starLisa!!

Best pun I've heard in a long long time. Thank you.

And feel better! Mucusin always works for me.

Awesome pun [Smile] Feel better!

Hey, Shvester! Are you feeling any better?

Posted by Tante Shvester (Member # 8202) on :

Lisa? Lisa? Are you still breathing?

Lisa?

Hey, yeah. I'm good. The Zithromax did the job. I still had gunk in my lungs, and I was pretty weak all weekend long, but other than that, B'H, I'm a lot better.

Posted by Tante Shvester (Member # 8202) on :

B'H! (and I don't mean Big Head or Bodacious Hooters) I've been rooting for the whole refuah sh'leimah thing. Glad the Zithro maxed you.

[/incomprehensible jargon]
