I've been here for a little over a year. In that time, based on your presence here and your recommendations, I've been exposed to/checked out the following things that I now love:

More on the last two: Thanks to the Eternal Bra Thread (and whoever bumped it yesterday), I finally went out and got fitted for a bra. Talk about a major life-changing experience. Seriously, I think this is gonna cut my chiropractic bill in half.
And, OK, I've only done three of the FFFs, but they were fun, and I will do more, I'm sure. And it's the first time I've tried to write fiction in years. And actually, I think that quidscribis, who sponsors the FFFs, is the same one who bumped the Bra threads (and started one of them) . . . so thanks, quid.
Now: What are you grateful to Hatrack for? (note: I may steal from your lists and add to mine if I find anything major because I just KNOW there are things I'm forgetting.)

I'm most grateful to Hatrack for all the real life friends I met here.
I'm also grateful for Firefly.
There's more, but that's what comes to mind right now. Really, number one just makes everything else pale in comparison.

Besides all the books, movies, and tv shows I've seen because they've been recommended here?
Finding a community that served as an outlet for thoughts and ideas and discussions that I could never have elsewhere, due mostly to the type of people that were drawn to this place.

I'm most grateful to Hatrack for its open and respectful discussions between people of widely varying perspectives. Learning the details about why people think and feel the way they do helps me be understand others. I am incredibly grateful for that.

A chance to really talk about things that are important to me, and to hear what things are important to others. A chance to think about things and discuss things that are deeper and more personal than what would come up at church or in the workplace.
A chance to come across world views that are foreign to my own, in a place and manner where they can be explained and understood instead of just fought about. A chance to get a glimpse into what it would be like to live an entirely different way, with an entirely different set of beliefs and experiences.
Broader views ... greater understanding ... realization that some of the things I thought we all had in common, we don't; and some of the things I thought I was alone in feeling, I'm not.
In short, I've learned how incredibly much I still have left to learn.

Without Hatrack, I wouldn't be a daddy. I wouldn't have a wonderful spouse. I wouldn't have such great in-laws. And I would be lacking in a few fantastic friends.
What's a few restraining orders stacked up against THAT?

Can't compete with Bob, but I am very grateful to have such an enjoyable community to interact with. Starting out I had to have wikipedia and dictionary.com up all the time in order to follow what people were saying.

Things I'm thankful for:
Raia, first and foremost, and always.
A place to discuss my thoughts and debate them with friendly people that I still like at the end of the day as friends (regardless of how they might feel about me ).
I'm also thankful for Puffy Treat and all the movie news that comes from that highly knowledgable source.
If this place should ever cease to exist, there will be a Hatrack shaped hole in my heart.
