In fact, agnostic as I am, I'll even accept prayers. After years of procrastination the deadline of my final thesis (law school) approaches in about 29 hours. I have between 20-30 heavily footnoted pages left to write. It is fortunate that I am such a brilliant man, or I would never make it. Is it possible to cram what is supposed to be half a semester's worth of work into one day? I am about to find out.

Starting now.

You can do it! Remember, the footnotes take up space. [Smile]

Good Luck! Or break a leg or whatever you say to lawyers before they go into court or doing anything lawful????

A fellow procrastinator!

Remember: we're the most productive people in the world, depending on when you check.

Best of luck.

It's possible. My favourite lecturer wrote his PhD thesis in about two weeks.

Good luck.

Well?

Hmm, well, I didn't quite make it. However, my supervisor was very kind and understanding, and I am done now. In fact, I have my law degree. Yay me. If you ever get into trouble with the Swedish justice system, I am the man to avoid. Or if you are a country and need to justify your outrageous behaviour using international law, well, that is my speciality.

Actually, my supervisor was very enthusiastic. "One of the best essays I've read in recent years" and "you got research talent, and this is something I don't tell many people" were some of his comments. He's also offered to send the thesis to various buddies of his at the foreign ministry and will send it to an institute that awards a yearly prize for best thesis in international law.

All this is somewhat embarassing since I believe I could have done much better had I worked steadily for a time instead of doing everything in two brief, mad rushes. But I'm also happy, since this professor is someone I admire greatly. But mostly I'm relieved I'm done. I am such a procrastinator that I sometimes doubted I ever would be.

Now I just need to find a job. But why hurry when I can read Hatrack instead, eh?

I think he means he didn't quite make the due date.

Grats Tristan! Do I have to pay you for the time it took you to read my kudos? [Wink]

Yeah, I was talking about the deadline. I made an attempt, but I realised rather quickly that it simply wasn't possible. I could have written 30 pages that was passable, but not with the level of support that is expected when writing about international law. So I got depressed and did absolutely nothing for a couple of weeks, and then I sat down and used another week or so to write it. Since the deadline was set (on my initiative) in order to motivate me to finally get the thing finished, being late was less of a thing than it could have been. It was embarrassing, but the main thing was getting it done.

BlackBlade, if I got paid for time spent reading Hatrack, I would have been a millionaire years ago! I will just have to get a regular job where I can surf at Hatrack on the sly as the rest of you seem to do. I mean, it's research, isn't it?
