Does anyone know if there is a way I can download Windows Media Center without upgradsing to Vista? My computer can't run Vista at the moment, so I need to find a way to get WMC without it.

Windows XP Media Center Edition or Windows Media Player?
Because Windows XP Media Center Edition is only available pre-installed on new PCs. As far as I'm aware, you cannot purchase it seperately.
Edit Well, I lied: Here's a link where you can purchase it. Windows XP Media Center Edition Posted by Little_Doctor (Member # 6635) on :
Well, I don't want to have to get a whole new OS. I just want to get Media Center for my current XP system. Is that possible?

Windows XP Media Center is a whole new operating system. If this isn't what you're referring to, perhaps you could elaborate on what exactly you want. It's not just a cool patch, service pack, or utility you can download.
For a good idea of what it is, check this review out.

Maybe I'm wrong. On my brother's computer, he has a program called Media Center that he can open up. I assumed he just had XP. So he has a completely different OS than me?

You'll really have to ask your brother then. There's probably a dozen 3rd party media center applications out there, perhaps he has one of those that works with Windows XP (a non-Media Center Edition version of XP anyway).

Also, there is more than one version of XP. The Media Center edition is XP, but there is also home and professional. Each of them are different operating systems.
