None of the various stones, ointments, scrubs, lotions, or devices purchased in stores seem to help mine.

Didja try Bag Balm? My mom swears by it; rub in a thick layer and then put cotton socks on. Do it every night, preferably after a soak in a bath or a foot bath. It smells kinda gross but it really works, when I had cracked heels I borrowed some and it healed them really well.

That's what I want to know! Even cocoa butter doesn't work. These heels are like sandpaper.

"With contempt."

(Yeah, yeah. I think I'll get that joke out of the way preemptively.)

Yes, Puffy Treat, you can get it in some stores, although not all of them carry it. Call your local drugstore to find out if they do (I've found local independents are more likely to than big chains.) Also, if you have a farm supply nearby, they often carry it.

My mom gets hers at the Kaiser Pharmacy, I believe.

But drugstore.com does have a good price on it, and free shipping. [Smile]

Beverly used to have really bad cracked heels, but they cleared up once she started using a lotion with a lot of Omega 3s.

You might want to consider seeing a doctor. They can rule out a fungus or various other skin problems. It's worth getting looked at.

Edit: Even the ad at the bottom of this page suggests eczema!

I really don't know anything about cracked heels, but do you at least wear socks all the time? I know when I stopped wearing socks for a short period of time, the condition of my feet deteriorated.

Dude! I love Bag Balm is the best.
So many uses. *ahem*

Anyway...my Mom, brother, and me suffer from this too. Used to be really bad when I was younger but over the past 10 years it's gone away. I figure it's from the fact that I wear boots all the time and my feet are nice are moist from being in the boots. Sometimes they'll get bad again in the summer when I wear sandels.

I used to go the dermitologist and he had me put on this special cream and then wrap up my feet in plastic at night.
