Darn. I wish a tour date was playing near me.

I heard about this not long ago, too. And it's not just a stage show, but a Matthew Bourne production, so it's probably mostly, if not entirely, dance-oriented.

It should be incredible - I've never seen any of Bourne's work, but I've wanted to for a very long time. Luckily for me (and any other NY-ers), it'll be at BAM next spring. I'll have to try and make sure I see it. [Smile]

I meant to post this weeks ago, but I forgot.

I did end up seeing this, as well as a Q&A panel with Matthew Bourne beforehand, and I really enjoyed both. The show itself wasn't anything world-changing (for me, at least), but it was a lot of fun. There wasn't any dialogue, just dance and music, but the choreography wasn't especially ballet-like for a lot of it. The visuals were very interesting - in the discussion, Bourne said they'd made a point not to try to make it look like a Tim Burton piece because they might as well have gotten Tim Burton to do it if that's what they'd wanted to go for. I loved hearing him talk about his creative processes, but I'm a geek like that. A lot of times I'll actually enjoy a film's commentary more than the film itself, too. [Smile]

I also found out that a few of Bourne's earlier works are on DVD, so eventually I'll have to hunt those down.

I saw this at the FOX. I really really liked it. One of my best friends was very jealous. We're both huge Tim Burton freaks.
