Okay If I close the lid to my laptop to hibernate it it makes a really load WAILING banshee schrich that pieces my ear drums causing severe pain to my cranium.
Crazy thing is its actually LOUDED then the loudest possibly setting to my laptop as well.

What make/model is it? And does it make the sound when you hibernate it through other means (like, say, the Start menu)?

Its an Acer, and it I think makes the normal Windows sound when it hibernates/startsup except now since I pulled out the speakers I plugged in while it was Hibernating it started to make this shrieking noise.

bu bu bu but... I spend so much of my time with it =( how do I tell it I need a life? When that 14.1 inch LCD screen with its Ethernet wireless connection and 60GB harddrive... Its hard to look away.
