I'm lonely.

My one big plan for the weekend is shot because they're shipping my boy out of state for a while. We've barely spoken all week.

I wanna go to the French Quarter, but I can't think of anyone to come along that I won't end up wanting to punch in the face before the end of the night.

Looks like another weekend of decorating and cleaning my place.

Who else is bored and lonely? Let's have a pity party. I'll bring the Tostitos.

pity party? Hmmmm, well seems this is a bad weekend for a few of us. But I am looking at going down to the pub for a few beers. The walk will keep me warm.

I seem to want a boyfriend.
But it's dinner so I am not completely bored

I miss my high school crew and we are spread throughout the nation and beyond. I had a bad week, so I have an urgent need to watch old musicals and cuddle. But here...I have no one. So I'm just watching old musicals and pretending that my pillow is someone it is not. [Frown]

*chops carrot sticks, places next to Tostitos*

Glad I'm not the only one who uses a pillow. Ack, new gf is at a funeral right now, which kinda cancels this weekend's date.

Instead of indulging in all sorts of mind-altering substances, I'm working. All night.

Posted by Stan the man (Member # 6249) on :

Have fun with that. I'm having the worse 3 day weekend ever. Nothing to do in CT. This state...well...it stinks (safest word I can think of).

At least you didn't have to wake up at 05 today and tomorrow for work....weekend my left knee.

I spent six hours today debugging one freaking line, and it wasn't even my code; damn third-party updates that expose bugs in other third-party libraries! Play nicely with each other, curse you!

One of the few benefits of shore duty. Spent 5 years at sea and now this. I still prefer being out to sea.

Well... it's the busiest season of the year for my work and I'm exhausted on Friday night?

I guess I'm getting older, though, because I don't mind the comfort of a warm, yellowy-brown light and a book.

Man I'm a dork.

I finally just got home from work... I left my office at 5:05. Almost 5 hours.

The conductors on the train told us first that there were "switch problems", then "backed up traffic", then finally "lightning strike on the tracks". Now I can't get any information about what happened.

Well, I've spent the evening laying around, hoping that eventually the medicine would kick in to drive the fever down and clear my mind enough to even want to do something.

Finally, after everyone's in bed, the lethargy is leaving and I'm up.
On the bright side, though, I love it when it's quiet and I can sit and pray and reflect and write and hang out here at Hatrack and all that stuff that is hard to do when other people are moving all around you, so I guess i'm not really joining the pity party anyway.

I read this as Friday Night Pita Party and got all excited because I loved Pitas.

Ooooh, that sounds yummy!

I just got back from seeing an excellent play at a great theater with my mother! It was a lot of fun, but I'm kinda hungry. So now I think I'm going to make some dinner and grab a beer. [Smile]

Oh! Also, I had a very nice e-mail from my boyfriend waiting for me at home. [Smile] A lovely Friday evening.

Eljay, that's just mean. You big meanie.

But congrats.

What? You haven't scared him off yet? [Razz] [Razz]

I did very little drinking at the bar down in groton. More or less went and talked to a few friends down there. Now that I am home...I seem to have a few cases of beer left in the fridge. I think this is a problem that needs to be resolved.

Just got home from the bar, where I shot pool with various extremely attractive men. Oh, life. Why do you hate me?

On the plus side, I got one of their numbers, and they're all friends, and they seemed nice even after I threw in the boyfriend factor. So maybe we'll be friends. Of course, I've been wrong many, many times in the past.

*sigh* Maybe I'll sleep in my boyfriend's shirt and cuddle my teddy bear. *mope, mope*

We should have a pita party though. Pitas are awesome. Oh, man. I wish the restaurant by my house still delivered so I could order pitas and hummus.

So it's Saturday morning and I'm not feeling particularly in need of a pity party -- but I just gotta ask, pH, where is the life hating you in the scenario above? Sounds pretty nice to me!! [Wink]

Because sometimes it makes me sad, since I have a boyfriend.

Today is cleaning the house day...ah, exciting.

At least you HAVE a boyfriend....

I'm not saying my life is so bad... I love my son and wouldn't trade him for the world. Still.. I haven't had anything that qualifies as ADULT fun in.... hmm... almost a year now.

I live in the stupid little town I grew up in, with less thatn 2000 other people. I drive an hour each way to work every day, so when the weekend comes, I just can't bring myself to drive any more. Hence, I sit at home, take my kid the the park, do family stuff... and make NO new friends. Since all my college friends have hence exploded across the country... my social life consists of a not-very-fast internet connection.

Whee, another Friday night alone.

Who's with me?

I'm on Saturday morning, and my husband is sitting next to me, but I'm sick and miserable, so I'm with you in spirit. Will that work for you?

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

My rabbit is here at least.
I am going to watch Spiderman and drink hot chocolate and maybe cut my hair sometime this weekend as it looks stupid.

I'm living in a city that isn't my own and the one friend I have here who would be delighted to see me is at a funeral in Nova Scotia... and yeah... I've had a very stressful week and I got a package today which made me happy, but I can't share it with anyone... and I'm feeling terribly alone right now and really badly wish I had a friend...

Posted by quidscribis (Member # 5124) on :

Hey, Reiko, I'm happy for you that you got a package that makes you happy, even though you won't share it with us and let us live happily and vicariously through you. [Smile]

And, um, you have friends. Here. Even though it's not IRL where you are. [Frown] And I gotta tell you that I don't see you on Hatrack nearly enough.

I'm also facing another Friday Night Alone... boo...

Posted by ReikoDemosthenes (Member # 6218) on :

I'm here a fair bit... I just don't post much because I rarely know what to say...

The package was mostly candy from home, as well as a CD with our old pastor telling the story of the Nativity dramatically... just getting something was very nice...

And yeah... thank-you..

Posted by quidscribis (Member # 5124) on :

OOOOH! That kind of share. I'm with you now. [Smile] I'm glad you shared it with us. [Smile]

Seriously, though, I wish you'd speak up a bit more. You're so very kind and thoughtful and add a very nice positive note to the place. [Smile] But I also understand the not knowing what to say bit. [Smile]

*sniff* you're going to make me cry soon... I really do like it when I can find something to post.. and I'm glad people like it when I post...

All my friends went home for Thanksgiving. I spent the entire day reading alone in Barnes & Noble, then came home to a Lost marathon.

...man, I hope this happens more often.

It's -31 with the windchill here, so I'm just hanging out at home, playing with my Wii. I love saying that.

It's a symptom of my loneliness that I dobied this thread at 12:18 in the morning on a Friday night, sitting alone in an overheated university lounge.

Posted by Eduardo_Sauron (Member # 5827) on :

It's a pity I didn't find this thread yesterday. I also spent the night alone, as my beautiful fiancée is in her mother's house tending to marriage stuff. At least World of Warcraft kept me going until fatigue sunk in.
That was a very pathetic way to spent friday night, because I'm usually at work. If I had warned her earlier that I'd be home sooner than expected, I would not have to spend the night alone. Dumb, dumb
Eduardo.
