Someone on the Dallas Cowboys forums, in response to Mike Vick flipping off fans in Atlanta, asked where the character in the NFL had gone. I wrote a little piece, under the name "Dirk Gently" detailing several instances of character on the cowboys team, starting with Drew Bledsoe, who has got to be experiencing the most gut-wrenching Deja-vu in the history of professional sports.

Anyhow, some Giants fans seemed to think it was insulting to them and posted it to their message board with commentary. When I tried to create an account as "Dirk Gently" there to say "hey, I was talking good about the Cowboys, not disparaging the Giants," they rejected my membership to their board. No other Cowboy fans were rejected.

Is this my 15 minutes of fame?

I went to New York once. I nearly got into a political barfight. It was so fun.

Hear hear! Long live the Red Sox! I've gotten into a lot of fights with Yankees fans because of my Red Sox paraphernalia. It's a great way of expressing your anger.
