For decades upon decades the Archie Comics "House Style" was based on that of the late, great Dan DeCarlo.

In in May of 2007, Archie will experiment with departing from this style with their "core" characters when Betty and Veronica get an all-new "realistic" design...along with continuing, open-ended stories.

While I loved the results of Tania Del Rio's manga revamp of Sabrina the Teenage Witch...I have to admit, I hope the DeCarlo-inspired look isn't completely dropped.

I always wondered who bought those Archie comics. [Smile] [Razz]

For many years, they were the only comics on the non-direct-market racks for non-DC/Marvel fans.

Here's a preview image. *shudder*

Wow. That's actually kind of cool. I can't... I'm trying to imagine those two talking like Betty and Veronica, and it just isn't working. I wonder what Arch and Reg and Juggie are going to look like. And Moose and whatever the geekboy's name is. Dexter? It's been a loooong time.

Yeah, that is kinda cool, kinda strange. My little sisters LOVE those comics.

Not bad, except for the boy in town thing...
I rather like Archie. It makes me giggle stupidly sometimes.

Don't like it. The magna Sabrina was okay, but this is just odd.

I don't expect it to sell well. It looks too mature for people to buy it for their kids, but teens won't be interested because it's still betty and veronica.

But what do I know?
