Rocky's still got it. I went and saw the new Rocky movie last night. And not only did the previews excite me (trailers for Ghost Rider and Transformers), but the movie was good.

Despite the fact, Stallone is incredibly hard to understand. The movie is just as heartfelt and true as the first (as far as I'm concernced). It stays true to the rest of the franchise.

***SPOILER ALERT***

Rocky now runs an Italian resturant called Adrian's Restruant. He rarely sees his son and he mourns the loss of his wife.

The beginning of the movie seems slow and depressing. Then you meet the present World Champ Mason "The Line" Dixon. Many people criticize Dixon saying he isn't really a boxer because he never had a challenge.

Then ESPN runs this hypothetical fight. According to a video game, Rocky, in his prime, would destroy Dixon.

A chain of events lead to Rocky getting a boxing license, signing on for an exhibition match against Dixon, and another "Gonna Fly Now" montage.

Rocky trains really hard and, to the surprise of Dixon, puts up quite a fight. The present day champ actually gets injured. Dixon brakes his hands on Rocky's abs. Incredible.

After ten rounds of heated boxing, there is a split vote, so they count votes and it is decided that Dixon is the winner. That's right, Rocky actually doesn't win.

But the ending feels right because Rocky proved that he still could go the distance. And he released the beast within.

***END SPOILERS***

Overall, it was quite a good movie. I would recommend it to fans of the original.

Spoilers*

Well seeing as how he didn't win in the first movie it didn't take as much courage IMO to script that ending in this movie.

*Minor, Insignificant Spoiler*

Have you seen the new one? The mood that is set is for victory. I didn't expect the ending the way it was.

Edit:

They also may have scripted it that way in reference to and homage to the first movie. It seems to evoke more emotion in both films.

I really liked it. I already knew the ending but I still found it very good. I think it was a great end to the series.

Spoiler*

"Blunt force trauma" are my new favorite three words. I was expecting slow but REALLY brutal, and was disappointed when Rocky didn't end up breaking more of Dixon than he did.

I saw it last week. I was really impressed by it. There were a few really cheesy lines, but overall the movie was well done, and the fight was really well put together.

*Spoilers*

I thought the restruant thing was incredibly funny. With the former boxer doing dishes and all.

I saw it last week with my dad, and I was very impressed by it. Maybe it's because I went into the movie expecting it to suck, or maybe it was because the movie was actually good, I can't tell yet.

***Spoilers***

It was funny, during the final battle (well, match I guess) I was really worried that either Rocky or Dixon would get knocked out. I would have hated the movie if that happened, and was truely scared that something like that would happen. I was glad that they 'tied.'
