They're out of wiimotes and nunchucks, unfortunately, but (for the moment anyway) they do have wiis.

Man, I can't wait to get mine. Now I just need to find at least one more wiimote and two nunchucks.

Good luck, I've been trying to keep an eye out for another nunchuck since it released in December.

Yeah, that's what I've heard. Still, you never know. I wasn't expecting to find a cache of wiis at Sears either.

Ask your local Target and game stores what time they get their UPS shipments. Then call right after that time every day. Of course, it probably helped us that Bob could leave work at odd hours to go pick them up.

Good thinking, Dana. Happily, my manager is as interested in getting additional wiimotes and nunchucks as I am. I expect that he'll not only be willing to let me go, but will volunteer to drive.

<-- Loves his Wii, his 2 wiimotes, his 1 nunchuck, and 1 classic controller.

I really need to get 3 more classics and a nunchuck so that my collection feels right.

<-- four wiimotes, four nunchucks, but only one classic controller. But since only one of us has nostalgic memories of Super Mario, that's probably okay for now.

I also have one nunchuck. Do you really need more than one?

If you want to play multi-player games that use both hands, yes.

Do they have those yet?

We finally got our wii about 2 weeks ago. Hubby gave up on the "time the shipments" route (especially since most stores here would deliberately hold their shipments) and waited in line in the cold at Best Buy one Sunday morning. There are entire websites dedicated to locating wiis at stores in your area. It's quite astounding.

And yes, you need more than one nunchuck - hubby and I have great fun boxing each other. [Big Grin] We have 2 wiimotes, 2 nunchucks, and our 4 gamecube remotes that we use in lieu of the classic controller.

Boxing, on Wii Sports needs both hands. And all of the tank driving & saucer flying mini-games on SuperMonkey Ball, and most of the games on Rayman Ravin Rabbids.

Yes, almost all but Wii Sports and Wario Ware (Rayman, Madden, Red Steel, Elebits).

I have 3 wiimotes (snagged one randomly on Amazon, and a friend found one in North Carolina where he lives), 2 nunchuks (when I got my Wii, the store didn't have any wiimotes, but a ton of extra nunchuks, so I bought an extra one; haven't seen another nunchuk since). I also have 2 Classic controllers, and I've seen a few of them around.

<- 4 remotes and 4 nunchuks, and have as long as I've had a Wii. [Smile] No classic controllers, but they seem to be easy to find around here when I decide I want to start downloading old games.

So in looking at the description of the wii I bought from Sears, it looks like it doesn't come with a memory card. Are those in short supply?

BTW, the Wiis at sears.com are officially out of stock. The link above says they are "In Stock", but trying to checkout with one in your shopping cart tells you they are now unavailable.

The Wii has 512MB built in, and you can use any "regular" SD card in them (apparently their are newer super-large capacity SD cards that may not be compatible).

I bought a 2GB card off of newegg for 20 bucks or so, and it works fine... I'm using it as a backup right now, in case something were to happen to my Wii.

EDIT: I recommend NOT buying a Nintendo branded SD card, the prices are ridiculous.

Here's a question... if you have an original classic controller, can you adapt it to use with the Wii?

What if you have a NES Advantage and NES Max? Can you get SNES controllers to work? How about the Super Scope? [Big Grin]

All that hardware has to be of use somehow, eh?

FC, yes, but it requires a hack. Or at least I think I saw a video of people who did it...

Light guns won't work, since that isn't how the wiimote works [Smile]

I'd love a Wii. I don't do video games, but the Wii is just so much fun. Even Wii sports could entertain me for hours.
