BGSU does, which is weird considering it's the first time we've actually had a closing in about 10 years (I think).

*Is on cloud 9 because this is our second day off*

*Rubbs it in working people's faces, snuggles back into nice, comfy bed, pulling warm covers all the way up to her chin*

[/nonsensical thread]

I don't. In spite of the massive amount of snow, Cornell never closes.

*high-fives Kelly* I do!

Whoooooohooooo! Snow day!

And sympathy to kojabu. I lived in Ithaca for 2 years and drove to school behind a snow plow many a time. *shudders* I think we had one snow day the last winter I was there,

Today is our 3rd. Yay NoVa!

The IU campus is closed till noon today. I wish I could have the whole day off, but I'll take it!

I think it's probably pointless to use the extra time to shovel the walk, as we got half an inch of freezing rain before it snowed, and I don't have any salt. Maybe I'll try to pick some up after work today and do it then.

I do, as does most of Indiana.

*growls* Not me. We got off yesterday at two, but although there is actually snow everywhere, it is all still open.

On the upside, no one else is around, so I don't actually need to get anything done. I think I'll do homework.

I'm off until noon. Too bad my classes start at 1:30.

We got off at noon yesterday and I had a test at noon, so I don't have anything to complain about.

My boyfriend's roommate just came in. They extended the snow recess until tomorrow morning.

This is perfect timing, I had a test this afternoon as well.

The bad news: No snow day.
The good news: No snow! [Big Grin]

*enjoys sunny SoCal weather*

We almost had a snow day last Thursday (almost unheard of for London) but we were the ONLY school in the borough not to close! We were as mad as the kids (break duty was horrible) and then to add insult to injury we had a parents' evening till 7:30! (The snow had cleared from South London by about 5, so the schools that did close got a lot of stick from the press).

I have to work AND go to an NBA game tonight. This will not be one of those days I look back on with fondness in my old age.

Back when I lived in a place with snow, my university wouldn't close when the roads were icy so I'd have to drive in anyway or miss class. I guess the reasoning was, most of the students lived on or near campus.

It's not a policy I would have endorsed.

I do. It's funny, cause RPI "never closes" either.

I'm missing two tests, a lab, and a lecture.

Snow day in Baltimore! I also had one yesterday.
Sucks though, cause it's valentine's day. [Frown]

It's funny - here in AZ, we don't get school closings.

I take my own "snow days." [Smile]

I have a friend that goes to school in Baltimore. I suppose he is snowed in as well. Maybe I will call him.

Here is Yewston (Houston) all the schools closed when it got below 35 degrees. It wasn't even raining.

Well, you get a half day now. Closed as of 12:30.

I don't have the day off. Then again, it's not snowing here yet. It's just cold. I was freezing as I walked to class this morning.

Yeah I know Hollow. I was just about to post that Cornell closed. You go to Cornell right?

They said come into work when it was lightly snowing. It picked up hard. As soon as the roads were at their worst, they decided we should go drive in it, and as a reward for risking our lives, we could go home early.

Its weird with all the snow you folks in the east are getting, Utah just had 2 days of 50-60 degree weather and it melted all the residual snow.

I love cold weather, but to be honest I am happy for this short reprieve in the middle of the season.

I took some pictures and posted them in my livejournal

I've had my 9th snow day in 2 weeks... And I'm homeschooled.

It's awesome.

We had the day off yesterday...the workshop site had no power, so no one could see clients. And I refused to go in today on the grounds that I am losing my mind and have too much schoolwork to handle right now.

But since all the universities were closed yesterday as well, one of my friends and I spent the day wandering around the neighborhood and ended up picking up some beer and relaxing.

We've had our first snow day since the 1970s today at my university (in Indiana). I think it's mostly because we had snow followed by sleet/freezing rain followed by snow, so the conditions for driving are really dangerous. The town is actually at a level 2 emergency - all vehicles other than emergency vehicles have to stay off the roads. Since a significant portion of the faculty and staff don't live within walking distance, classes were closed.

Okay, we need to start an innitiative to ship all of this excess snow down to the south. I swear, dump a bucket of the stuff in the middle of the freeway and the entire city would shut down instantly.

I want a day off too!

Two yeara ago, it snowed in New Orleans ON CHRISTMAS DAY, and the whole city shut down even more than it already was. But I missed it. [Frown]

We're off again tomorrow!!!
[Party]

AND my road is clear enough that I can go to the gym.

I have the day off every day. But that's because I work nights. Driving home this morning in the ice was a real treat. Not. I thank G'd I got home safely.

And I pray that I do it again tonight.

I took it off today. It was my sisters wedding.

No school on Friday!
[Cool]

The last 2 days haven't been much of a vacation for me, since I've been working hard on my teaching portfolio for national boards...but I'm going to try to rest tomorrow, so I'm really grateful for the extra snow day.
