Hey all you people who live in Indiana and Ohio! I live in Pennsylvania and I have a vet school interview at Purdue University on Friday. My mom and I are supposed to leave tomorrow morning (about a 7hr drive from my house). However, with all this bad weather we are getting, we are not sure if this is going to be possible. We plan to take I70 through Ohio and I65 from Indianapolis to Purdue (Lafayette). I know the roads are supposed to be bad now but I am hoping they will clear up by tomorrow. Can anyone who lives in this area tell me what you are seeing with the road conditions?

Thanks

Well, I haven't seen any of the local road conditions because Jefferson County, Ohio, is under a Level 3 Snow Emergency, which means that no one is allowed to drive except emergency vehicles. I-70 goes through Belmont county.

"Belmont and Carroll counties remain under a Level 2 emergency, meaning roadways are hazardous and people should only drive if they feel it is necessary.
I got this information from a local station. Obviously this is only the easternmost part of your route through Ohio, so conditions will probably vary. Also, be VERY CAREFUL going through West Virginia. They don't tend to salt their roads very well, so they get icy even when the nearby roads in Pennsylvania and Ohio are fine.

The main roads are fine. I go to Purdue, and all of the major roads are completely clear, as well as most of the minor ones. We're all at a complete loss as to why they cancelled school today (although we're not complaining, mind you). I don't know about I70, but I'm sure I69 is clear.

Parts of I69 and I70 (through Indianapolis at least) are still slow and yucky as of the 5pm news today, but getting much better.

Is that the best Spielberg and Lucas could come up with?

Am I missing something steve or are you just posting to see yourself type?

To answer your question, breyerchic, they didn't go last week. She was able to contact Purdue last Thursday morning and they told her to forget about it and come to the next weekend's round of interviews. She will be leaving tomorrow morning and interviewing on Friday.

Good luck, sweetheart!

It was supposed to be a joke. But I guess it's better to be rude rather than just ignoring it if you didn't think it was funny, huh?

Steve, I was asking honestly, since no one I have asked gets your joke either and is quite confused as to what you were trying to say.

Wow, I'm truly surprised. Rather than stooping to the level of defining my joke, I'll give you hints. Let's think. What do the words Indiana, Spielberg, and Lucas have in common?

What if I also give you the word Jones?

Are my hints not good enough?

Quit while you're...well, behind. [Wink]

Hey guys-Thanks for the info about the roads. Like AR said, I didn't go last week. I rescheduled and went this week. The drive was completely fine and the interview was great. I would have to say it was the best interview I have ever had because I would not have changed anything I said. So, hopefully I will hear back in the next two weeks or so.
