Now, other than the fact that it cost a whole lot of money, can this be construed as a bad thing?

I only watched Farscape on and off, but it always seemed like a cool series to me.

Whenever I watch an episode, I think, this is a series that needs to be watched on DVD. Unfortunately, it is a bit more than I can afford.

If you like it, more power to you. I bought all of Yu Yu Hakusho last year off ebay on DVD and for awhile lamented the fact that I might have spent too much money on it, but in the end, I love the series, and really got a great deal on it, so there's no sense in kicking yourself for it.

It peaked for me in the second season.

Did you buy it on Amazon or E-Bay? I hope you did not buy it from a record club. I have gotten complete seasons of a show I like for less than half price from Amazon. The used DVDs that are rated very good or excellent condition were virtually the same as new, just not shrink-wrapped.

I have all of Farscape on DVD, bought it new as it was re released (the "Starburst Edition" DVD have 3 collections / season and go for a total of about $60 per season new, which is actually pretty good when you look at the prices on the original DVD release (like $110+ per season)
That being said, pay attention to the time counter while you're watching. I had problems with a few disks that caused skips that weren't always immediately obvious, but made episodes make no sense (like it would skip 5 minutes and you'd miss major plot developments). It was easy enough to exchange the bad ones, but I figured I'd mention it as a heads up.
