That's the sound of the theory talk I just attended going right over my head. It seems they're making progress on analytic solutions of good approximations to QCD, but the specifics of it was way formal. One of these days they'll tell us what cross-sections to measure.
In other news, it seems the university has been underpaying me lo these six months, and the huge paycheck I got two weeks ago, which they finally graciously condescended to explain to me after several reminder emails, was making up for that. No interest payments, though. 1500 dollars, they owed me.

All this physics, chemistry, and very particular biology stuff (i.e. mitosis and the cells) is all beyond me. It's not that I don't do well in the classes, because I do. It's just that I actually have to study it. It's all very abstract, at least that's how I see it. Math, on the other-hand, is extremely straightforward. It's simple, and it works the same way everytime. History is logical: Japan bombed the U.S., so the U.S. got angry. I have an extremely logical brain, and things like art and math just work, while chemistry and things that I can't see, don't.

I guess there are different logics.
chemistry to me just fits. All the different pieces just interact and its always the same. ALWAYS! There are variables, but if you get it right, it always works!
Now physics....
do electrons move? Do they really have mass, or is it just energy? What makes gravity work?
