Didn't somebody post a map that we could all put our location on a long while back? What happened to that?

I want to know if any of you guys live near me. (Sacramento, CA)

and I swear, as many california gatherings as there are, Hatrack is practically BASED there. You shouldn't have a problem finding people willing to meet up.

How very fun! I'm added.

I haven't checked that map for a long time. Wow, there's a lot of us on there now! And I like the slide-show-ness. (Although the fact that pic-less people get shown last sucks.)

What ARE you talking about? There was a recent NorCal (SF) gathering, and there was Shinda about 2 months back. (Which we had been trying to have happen for a LOOOOOONG time.) Oh, and there was a meeting-up-with-ersomniac, but we shan't discuss that. (*sniffle*)

Yeah, no need, I already blogged it. [Razz]

Boo and hiss, I'm one of three in Europe.

I'm having a Whassname (like a shinda) for all Iberian Jatraqueros. My House, tonight. I'll bring the pizza...

*already has a several-year stockpile*

You'll get over it by then. Or run out of room. [Razz]

It's times like these when I really, really wish I lived somewhere interesting...So I could say, "Yeah actually, I'm from Finland..." or something.

But no, I'm just from Baltimore.

Hey Katharina, I don't suppose you happened to go to Comerica Bank's Grand Opening Spring Festival this past Saturday at Belt Line and 161?

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

Wow, I don't think so. I was in Alexandria last Saturday, wandering around and hoping I didn't get ticketed because I only had a dime to put in the meter. Did you see my doppleganger?

But Finland isn't nearly that interesting if you live here.

Now I'm wondering if I should put my location in there. I don't really post that much on here...

I'll be out just north of San Diego next month. Any reccomendations of things to do? Other then the zoos, I've seen them more then enough.

*laugh* Katie, did you realize you're on that map 3 times?

The obvious answer is "Sea World."

But it smells like fish and it's really not that great if you're over the age of 10.

Have you done Old Town San Diego?

The most fun I've had at Sea World (granted, it was the Florida version) was when we left the kids at home and went there on our 10th anniversary trip.

They've got cool fish-and-other-stuff, and surprisingly great roller coasters!

Posted by Stephan (Member # 7549) on :

Yeah, and I plan on doing it again. There is a certain little Mexican restaurant I remember with very large margaritas there. My wife wants to hold off on Sea World until we can take our future children, mostly because I have been there as many times as the zoo. I have family in Escondido, so I have been out there a lot in the past decade.

We are considering a day in LA since we have a rental car, and I haven't been since I was 8.

Oooooh, now if you come to L.A., I can tell you a LOT of fun things to do!

I've heard the Florida version is better. But in any case I don't like fish or roller coasters much, so after the first couple of times you go... meh. I can see it being fun once or twice, though. [Smile]

Ha, no. I just noticed you live in Irving and I was out there managing that event last weekend.

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

She no longer lives in Irving. [Wink]

Posted by vonk (Member # 9027) on :

Well then, nevermind. [Smile]

I'm two hours from SF and there was a gathering that I didn't know about? gah!

Oh well, if there are any more gatherings I would like to attend.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Yes. I was in SF for a conference the last week of February.

And I am UTTERLY CRUSHED that you ignored the thread about it, despite my frequent bumping. [Wink]

I heard about the grand opening if that counts for something. [Smile] I'm in Plano, which is pretty close to Irving. If you're ever here again, shoot me an e-mail. One of these days, I'd really like to meet some Hatrackers. [Smile]

Wait a minute. Am I crazy or is there really another hatracker in Montana? I'm not the only one?! That comforts me. You comfort me, little yellow dot....

Whoever you are....

Posted by TL (Member # 8124) on :

It's Annie. I solved the mystery by hovering my mouse over the dot. I just thought I would resolve that little cliffhanger for the curious-types.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

And since she's back, it's even accurate.

I want to hang out with Hatrackers in Georgia!

That is all.

Hey Nick! Missed seeing you around [Smile]

Just doing some thread CPR. In case anyone missed this and wanted to be stalked, er, included.

Hey, camus, you're in Fairmont? I drove through last Wednesday, and will probably be back this spring. Would you be interested in having lunch or something?

That's true, she can. KQ, sorry I haven't caught up after our meeting. It's been a very busy month. Especially with the ice storm.

Thanks for meeting. You have a wonderful family.

So is Katharina in D.C. or Texas?

Posted by porcelain girl (Member # 1080) on :

Pretty sure she's in DC. I'm still in Santa Monica, but am spending a month in VA.

Posted by Philosofickle (Member # 10993) on :

I Live in Virginia now, and head up to D.C. fairly often. That and the fact that I've never really met another hatracker live and in person. Maybe I'll have to put up a post when my next trip to D.C. is.

Where in Virginia? I'm near DC.

Yeah, I'm one of those rare hermitic extroverts. One day I'll get out of my comfort zone and take part in a SoCal social activity.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

I know how that goes. [Smile]
