San Sebastian's day is trhe 20th of January. He is cool becasue in the city of San Sebastian (in the Basque Country) there is a huge, massive, bonkers street party that lasts for 24 hours. What it lacks in duration (compared to Pamplona's seven days for San Fermin) it makes up for in intensity. BTW, don't visit if you don't like drums...

Oh, and the "real" SS was martyred with arrows. There's a ratehr gruesome statue to this effect on the Basilica in the old town in San Sebastian!

I claim my e-cookie. [Wink]

too funny! reminds me of an inncoent day....very long ago....when I walked to my grandmother's house on Mar 17, and said "Nana! Why aren't you wearing Green?!"

She had a fit, I thought she was gonna explode or something. Turns out we are fom No. Ireland and celebrate St George's Day instead.

Good to see that Northern Ireland is trying to make peace with itself. Hope it lasts.
