The future official site of the next Batman movie...

Ditto.

The Joker's one of my top two favorite villains. The other being Two-Face... They better not screw it up!

You don't seem very confident. Was Batman Begins really so dubious?

Well, other than Katie Holmes. [Wink]

Posted by Sterling (Member # 8096) on :

No, actually, I really liked Batman Begins.

That's why I'm worried they may not have anywhere to go but down. Sometimes when studio heads get little dollar signs in their eyes and start muttering "Franchise... Franchise..." like zombies, bad things happen, especially to sequels.

If nothing else, BB managed to juggle Batman's origins and three villains and do them all reasonable credit. I hope with the former out of the way, they can do as well.

If you go to the official site now and click on the logo, you get a link to this site: I Believe in Harvey Dent.

Also starting yesterday, a new site went up (apparently run by the Joker): I Believe in Harvey Dent Too. If you enter your e-mail address there, you are sent a set of coordinates to help reveal the image underneath the written on Harvey Dent picture. Speculation is that it'll be the first shot of the Joker.

Posted by Vadon (Member # 4561) on :

That's what I'd guess, and I did my part. [Smile]

And the e-mail text is enjoyable in true Joker style. I'm already gettin' psyched for the movie.

Posted by Vadon (Member # 4561) on :

Hm... I want to still help, is it cheating to use my spam e-mail addresses to get a couple more pixels cleared?

Posted by Lyrhawn (Member # 7039) on :

I have fairly high hopes.

Mainly I'm just hoping it will do well enough for them to do a remake of Mr. Freeze that actually does the man credit, rather than the hack job that was done to him by the director, writers, and Ahnold.

Is anyone else loving the reference to The Long Halloween? [Big Grin]

Posted by Goody Scrivener (Member # 6742) on :

Parts of it are being filmed in my office building. We got an email at the beginning of last week telling us that "a major motion picture studio" was renting out a portion of our lobby and building a set for 2-3 weeks of filming. They were even dumb enough to give us the working title of the movie...

I don't understand why they're building an office set in the lobby of an office building when I know there's empty space upstairs. Half my floor is empty.

Maybe they know I'll want to kidnap Christian Bale? [Big Grin]

Have you read the email the Joker sends if you reply to his previous message? [Angst]

Cah-REEPY.

Posted by Goody Scrivener (Member # 6742) on :

The first message never showed up for me... [Frown]

Posted by Puffy Treat (Member # 7210) on :

Have you checked your "bulk" folder? That's where they showed up on my account.

Posted by Goody Scrivener (Member # 6742) on :

Yep. That was my first thought. Ah well.

The disturbing, dark tone of the Joker's messages and image have me wondering how Two-Face will be handled. I'm hoping for something like Batman: TAS, where he was more insane than evil.

Posted by Puffy Treat (Member # 7210) on :

Woo! Rumors have it that just as Batman Begins had an early teaser attached to I, Robot, the Dark Knight teaser will be attached to Order of the Phoenix. [Cool]

Ditto. Though apparently in this movie, it will only really focus on the Joker and not on Two-Face origins.

I'm excited. I hope it's good.

Posted by Sterling (Member # 8096) on :

In a world where the people in charge of such things were patient, I'd love a movie where Harvey Dent got a whole movie before becoming Two-Face.

Don't expect it to happen, though.

Posted by docmagik (Member # 1131) on :

Yes. Especially if he was played by somebody uber cool, like Lando.

They're not doing the emails any more. Somebody got 'em can post 'em?

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

If this does well, are we going to see a semi-remake of Batman Returns? Penguin and all?

Posted by Puffy Treat (Member # 7210) on :

While I would like to eventually see Catwoman and the Penguin, I think remaking Batman Returns is not in the cards. Batman Begins wasn't a remake of Batman, and I doubt The Dark Knight will be either.

The first email read:

I always say, you never know what a man is truly made of until you peel the skin off his face one piece at a time. Here is your chance to help.

And if one hit "reply" to this email one got:

People always ask me about my charming boyish smile. Jessica used to love it. She was the loneliest girl in high school, and my first big kiss...

Posted by docmagik (Member # 1131) on :

Thanks, Puffy! Appreciate it, and all the ways you keep me caught up on the news that really matters.

Keep it up, my friend.

According to the Wikipedia site...and this could be completely wrong, obviously...it seems like Harvey Dent won't become Two-Face in this movie. We may see a hint of his schizophrenia, but apparently no super-villainy.

Looks like enough pixels have been entered on ibelieveinharveydenttoo to reveal the underlying picture.

Posted by erosomniac (Member # 6834) on :

Check the denttoo site again now.

[Angst]

Hahaha... HaHAHahaha...

Posted by Puffy Treat (Member # 7210) on :

Why, the page is a lot of laughs!

Posted by Flaming Toad on a Stick (Member # 9302) on :

Kinda disturbing, actually.

Posted by Sterling (Member # 8096) on :

Oh, they're having fun with this.

Posted by Vadon (Member # 4561) on :

And it makes me have fun.

Though the real fun of that message isn't the first layer of subliminal messages... it's the second layer. Gives you anticipation, eh? [Smile]

Posted by Puffy Treat (Member # 7210) on :

So, which big Christmas tentpole release film will the new trailer be attached to?

Hmmmm....

Posted by Vadon (Member # 4561) on :

That's what I'm trying to figure out...

Posted by Puffy Treat (Member # 7210) on :

The Golden Compass? It's definitely the highest profile potential-crossover audience flick coming out in December.

Posted by Ginol_Enam (Member # 7070) on :

Did anyone else see the picture of the Joker before they put up the laughing thing?

Posted by Vadon (Member # 4561) on :

I did, and you can still see a picture of it on the Wikipedia for the Joker.

Posted by Damien.m (Member # 8462) on :

Heres the link to the pick:

Creeeepy.

Posted by BlackBlade (Member # 8376) on :

Thats certainly a unique take. What about green hair? Also he needs to spend 5 minutes with a girl and learn to apply lipstick.

edit: The glascow smile really is kinda creepy. Apparently he does indeed have green hair according to reports from the set.

Posted by Javert (Member # 3076) on :

Apparently on the laughing thing, there are some extra letters that spell out "See you in December".

So creepy...love it!

Posted by Mighty Robot Lords (Member # 9228) on :

That picture is seriously disturbing. Excellent!

Posted by Foust (Member # 3043) on :

It's very much like Kakihara, from Ichi the Killer.

Which is goooood.

So I was able to peek into the construction site on my lunch break today. We've got a kitchen being built on one side, beautiful wood panelling, huge commercial style stove, dark marble counters. I know the building maintenance guys told me that part of it is being made into an office set, but I didnt see enough of that end to be able to tell.

I wonder if they'd spaz out if I walked by their open "doors" with a camera tomorrow....

Posted by Javert (Member # 3076) on :

Be careful. Movie sets don't like cameras that aren't theirs. You may end up dodging some batarangs.

Posted by Puffy Treat (Member # 7210) on :

Just scream: "Look over there, Harry Knowles is trying to steal the Utility Belt!"

The snap a few...and nonchalantly walk off.

Posted by Goody Scrivener (Member # 6742) on :

Javert, I suspected as much, to be honest. I may go buy a disposable for the attempt... that way if they confiscate the camera, I'm only out a few bucks.
