It looks like Fox has got another show with Summer Glua in it. She plays a Terminator in Fox's new show The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

The trailer isn't raising my hopes, but after Drive that might be a good thing. Actually it looks so bad it probably won't get canceled and Summer can have a steady job.

Ooh. That looks absolutely terrible, but man, I'd watch Summer Glau read the freakin' phone book. I'm probably alone among Firefly fans for this, but I always found her to be the most attractive of the women of Serenity (especially in the movie... yowza!).

I actually thought it was a spoof video like The Shining until I verified it on Wikipedia and the official home page.

The acting and dialog just looks baaad. The concept is really good.

Apparently Summer Glau and Nathan Fillion are both gluttons for Fox abuse.

Here's hoping Summer can strong arm Fox executives as well as she does villains on TV.

That looks kind of bad, but if Summer keeps teleporting through time with no clothes on, I'll record every episode [Smile]

I can't believe you pulled a chortle out of me with that statement.

I enjoyed her on The 4400.

As for the hottest actress on Firefly, Jewel Staite gets my nomination.

Y'know, I don't get the Jewel Staite thing. She's pretty, sure, but she looks like every other pretty woman in America.

Summer Glau looks pretty ordinary to me. Maybe her character's personality made her more attractive.

Gina Torres.

Exactly, she looks like a REAL person.

That's the whole basis of the 'girl next door' appeal. It's that she looks like a girl you might meet at the mall. Except famous, and so inherently better.

They're all hot. That's one of the best things about Firefly. Heck, even Book is pretty hot, for an older dude.

It's the shepherd thing. Book may be male, three times my age and ugly, but I'd still do him as long as he stammered "B...bless you my s-son!" during.

I'm never going to look at Book the same way again...

Here are the two main problems I have with the trailer. First: They reference John Conner as being a "Hero" (the actor is in Heroes); they reference Summer's character as being a girl from the future (Firefly reference imho); and they have a Terminator fan base. To me it seemed the trailer was aimed at getting audience members excited about the series NOT because it is any good, but because you are a fan of Firefly, Terminator, and/or Heroes.

Second: The acting just seems...awful. As much as I like the actress, Summer did not pull off Arnold's line, "Come with me if you want to live." It would of been better to have her own signature line.

The actress that plays Sarah seems like a flustered soccer mom. She, in what little I have seen, does not come across in any way as someone who has been targeted by killer robots from the future and is trying to protect and train her son for a coming apocalypse.

They got an actress who looks like Linda Hamilton but not one who can act like her. I don't see her as convincingly portraying Sarah going from a shell shocked innocent girl to a die hard, somewhat psycho, buff survivalist.

I hope I am wrong. The idea has so much potential.

River reminds me of my girlfriend, intelligent like you will nae believe, a bit off in the head, and a good dancer. My GF doesn't kill people, though.

sigh...that looked so cheesy. Of course I will at least watch the first few episodes because of Summer...but if that trailer was the best dialog that they have, they are in trouble.

Looks like Youtube took the video down due to "copyright claims." I thought Fox put up the video, so I am guessing they took it down because it's comments were 90%-99% negative.

Edit: I just checked the official site and they took the link down for the trailer. Yeah, the official show site had a link to the trailer. Now it just has a link to a clip where Sarah is getting choked and we don't see any other actors. Transparent!!

Edit Edit: I guess there are three links. The other two clips look better then the trailer.

The link you provide... Wikipedia seems to make very clear that, other than the names of Sarah and John Connor, the show pretty much has nothing to do and nobody involved with the movie. No actors, no directors, no special effects groups, no makeup artist, no original composer, etc... Hell, the art director's claim to fame is The Sopranos, which somehow doesn't seem to fit in to this.

Personally, I might Summer Glau and all, but I think this show's gonna suck.

Maybe you're reading too much into it. You're the first person I know of who even made this observation. But on the other hand, who ever really knows what tv producers are thinking.

In any case, none of this matters because the show will be cancelled after half a season at best. Sci-fi CANNOT exist on Fox unless it's the X-files. It'll end up airing at 8:00 on Fox Fridays, and NOTHING that airs in that timeslot survives for long... unless it's the X-files.
