So, I've decided that this summer would be a good time to learn php. I've done a fair amount of programming before, but very little of it is web related. I've been messing around with some tutorials for a bit now, but what I really need is a good project to undertake as a learning experience. Unfortunately, I'm kind of drawing a blank at the moment, and I thought that Hatrack might be able to help me come up with some ideas. So, does anyone here have an idea for a good beginner project?

Maybe try writing software for a simple blog or photo gallery?

I recommend the photo gallery approach. It's a great learning project. Be VERY careful with security, however.

So if I get it up and running, does someone volunteer to hack it?
