Spurs are going to win this. Tim Duncan is too good and the rest of the team is playing great too.

the spurs have been together for a while. they all know how to play well with each other and have a great team. that said, im cheering for cleveland. i think james and gibson are awesome. the spurs are scrappy and rough, but im hoping that the Cav's pull through.

In all candidness, I was never interested in the NBA before Lebron James showed up, probably because there was never a good team to cheer for in Ohio. I know the Cavaliers have done well before, but I don't remember that because I was a little kid the last time that happened.
Yes, I am a bandwagon jumper.
The Spurs will probably win in five or six. They are just so much more of a "team."

I don't want to diss the Cavs at all, but they beat Detroit because we just stopped playing. To the credit of the Cavs, they hammered us for it, they by far deserved to win that series against us, and I wish them well. They earned every inch of floorboard, kudos.

I was the same way. I lived in Ohio before moving to Texas and then NY a few years ago, and I was more of a Pacers/ Bulls fan. Now that King James is on the Cavs I like my home state team for the first time.
Being a bandwagon jumper is not so bad. I jumped on the old Bandwagon with the Cowboys in 95 (i was a little kid) and they have been my team ever sinse. You got to start liking a team sometime.
Oh.... Cavs win in 6. if Bobbie keeps draining the threes and the big men stay out of foul trouble.

The Spurs look like a significantly better team. Not to sound a broken record, but the Western conference was much stronger than the East. If I were betting, I'd call it Spurs in 5, maybe 6. I really like LeBron, though, so I'll be rooting for the Cavs. The head says Spurs, the heart say Cavs in 7.

The Spurs look unstoppable. The Cavs will win 1 or 2 games on LJ's back, but they just can't hold out against Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili.

I was rooting for Utah but fully expecting the Spurs to win.
Just like I was rooting for Utah in the late 90s but didn't think they had a snowball's chance against the Bulls.
When I'm not vested in either team, I always root for the underdog. I think a lot of people are like that. Makes it more fun to watch.

Ditto: I was with the Jazz all the way. Even though I usually root for the underdog, which would be the Cavs in this case, I am still rooting for the Spurs. They are a better team because they play as a team, not because they are lead by the next Michael Jordan.

As a Jazz fan, I should probably root for the Spurs so I can say the Jazz lost to the champion. Having said that, though, I'll be rooting for the Cavs. I was seriously glad I was able to watch (on TV) Game 5 of the Cavs/Pistons series. Wow. Having watched the last few games of that series, I kept wondering, "Where was Gibson during the regular season?"
Although I'll be rooting for the Cavs, I predict the Spurs will win in 6 or 7. Too much championship and playing together as a team over the years experience for the Cavs to overcome.

I think Cleveland can do it. They made it this far. The fact is the Spurs are better, and we all know it, so the fans aren't going to get their hopes up for greatness. Besides, we all know that the Cavs will probably be very good for a while, so losing this year is more like a rite of passage.

well its true. James didnt play well at all that game. and also Gibson is freakin ON FIRE! James is the main guy, but i would love to see him give it up to gibson some more. the Cavs werent really spreading out the defense like how the Spurs were. and yeah, Parker was awesome that game. dont like saying it, but you cant deny it.

The Jazz play a very spread out game in terms of their points being spread out between many players, but it honestly was not enough to win the series against the Spurs.
If the Cavs want to beat them, one man just is not enough, I don't care how good they are.

what i meant was, the spurs were passing the ball around the court to open up the defense. the cav didnt do that much of it. there never seemed to be a strong concentration from one side when the Spurs were on offense. they played well, and deserved the win. now the cav's just need to learn their lessons and take it to heart in the second game.

Right I agree with this. I certainly hope the Cav's can adjust their game, I WANT this series to be close and interesting.

The Cavs only lost by 9 even with LBJ shooting 4 for 16. I hope the Cavs do like they did with Detroit and come back and take the series.

End scores can be pretty misleading. During the game were the Cav's ever in the lead? By how much? How much were the losing by for the last 3 minutes of the game?
The Jazz lost a game by something like 13 but that was after slowly whittling down a 32 point lead that the Spurs had at the half.

They never led past the first quarter, and they closed to within 5 points once in the third with (I believe) Duncan on the bench.
It wasn't nearly as close as the final score. Gibson and LeBron hit some threes once the Spurs softened their perimeter defense in the last few minutes.

true. have u been watching the games lately tho. Cleveland is getting stomped. We saw james pull it off with detroit, and im praying he can do it again, but it looks VERY grim right now. i stopped watching Game 2 when the Spurs had a 20 point lead =(

The last foul on James (or the earlier uncalled fouls on James and Gibson) wouldn't have mattered at all if anyone on the Cavs could have hit a 3 point shot to save their lives.
I mean, 3 of 19?
As badly as the Cavs outplayed the Spurs, they couldn't get an open three to fall to save their lives. You can't shoot 15.8% from behind the arc and expect to win a game.

The Pistons also have a history of being lazy, which is why they collapsed so spectacularly in the four games that followed. I don't think the Spurs are going to take the same route.

The point is that you've gotta really be a bandwagon fan to throw in the towel at 0-2, especially when you just came back from that very same deficit in the conference playoffs.
