I just got the ebook version of Ray Bradbury's new book, Farewell Summer, for my Sony Reader. For those who don't know, it's the closing novel in his trilogy, the first two being Dandelion Wine and Something Wicked this Way Comes. Supposed to be much darker than the two that came before it/

I'm wondering if anyone else here has read it, and what you guys thought.

Darker than Something Wicked? Wow.

Yeah, I'm trying to think of what could be darker than a malevolent circus that makes foul supernatural pacts in order to feed on the pain and misery of others? [Angst]

*feels guilty because for some reason she thought Ray Bradbury was dead and no longer writing novels*

*now feels even guiltier because she realizes Olivet might look at this thread and she [I] cancelled a get-together because she's [I am] supposed to be madly WORKING instead of posting fluff on Hatrack -- getting back to work immediately!*

Read all three.

Farewell Summer was not as dark, nor as good as the other two, IMO. It bore more of a resemblence to DW than SWTWC, in that it was not very plot driven, more simply nostalgic.

As a warning, the final scene is a little...odd.
