They are probably both rated R, but if you want a more lighthearted movie to rent this weekend, I reccommend:
Hot Fuzz- (complete with uncredited cameos from Peter Jackson and Cate Blanchett)
or
The Darwin Awards
with Joseph Fines, Winona Ryder and Metallica as Metallica
Hot Fuzz is done by the same folks that did Shaun of the Dead and includes spoofs on practically every cop movie already in existence and fun plot twists that make it stand on its own. Some of the humor is raunchy though, and worse if you actually know some gutter Brittish slang. Nonetheess it is a hoot to watch.
The Darwin Awards literally had me rolling on the couch with laughter. The premise is that a criminal profile can profile the people who are prone to Darwin award accidents for insurance purposes so that the insurance companies can avoid covering them. There are vingettes of various Darwin Award scenarios that feature other well known actors like David Arquette. There is also sexual content in this movie, so be forwarned, although the majority of it is presented in a humorous fashion.

I didn't realize Darwin Awards had those actors. That makes me somewhat more interested in it. Well, not Metallica, but I enjoyed Twisted Sister's cameo in Pee Wee much.

Metallica comes in for one of the vignettes and isn't truly crucial to the entire plot of the movie. They aren't on screen constantly, just an interesting side feature.

My brother went to the concert where they do the Canadian Flag bit... that's all I know of the part in the movie, don't even know the joke.
But he said it was hilarious how they were going to do it. Metallica said before the concert something to the effect of, "In some song, we're just going to stop, and this flag is going to drop, and we want you all to be dead silent, kay?"

Ian Holm has a cameo in Hot Fuzz, too. Make sure if you see it you watch the special features, they're pretty hilarious too.

Speaking of cameos in Hot Fuzz, there are two more you may not have known about.
Sgt. Angel's ex-girlfriend, Janine, is actually Cate Blanchett. It's hard to tell because of the facemask she is wearing, but if you look closely at her eyes you can tell.
Also, right in the very beginning--in the first 60 seconds or so--there is a flashback to when a druggie, dressed as Father Christmas (Santa, to us Yankees), stabs Sgt. Angel through the hand. This is actually Peter Jackson.
I also find it interesting that the filmmakers, in the "special thanks" section of the credits, thank Robert Rodriquez and Quentin Tarantino.

Well Edgar Wright probably filmed his bit for 'Grindhouse' right around the same time they were filming this. So it makes sense.

Robert Rodriquez also wrote the music for a couple of scenes.
