Eww, can you say "Shelob's Lair"?

Are you insane? Haven't you seen Arachniphobia? We don't want them working together!

Spiders are our friend!
Bugs are the enemy. Spiders kill bugs. Enemy of our enemy is our friend. They can be super efficient now that they are working together.

Well then cheer for bats. They already work together, their guano is the best natural fertilizer alive, and pound for pound they eat a bajillion more bugs than spiders do, plus they stay out of sight!
Spiders a devious, I think they have true, hidden motives that we don't know of, so I don't trust them.

That movie was fantastic evidence not only of their motives, but their hidden abilities. They can read, and speak, and hatch complex plans before spawning invasion armies that fly off into the night, as well as having hypnotically good singing voices.
