Have any of you seen this movie? Did you like it? I'm trying to find something for Michael and me to watch tonight when he finishes work. It looked kind of Hannibal Lecter-ish, and I do loves me some Hannibal Lecter.

I did love the film and then the Bridge of Belief collapsed. The ending is... and the father (Rickman) is... not to my liking. It was quite fun watching him create and test his ideas. To watch him smell the world, detecting the every particle is intriguing.

I'm reading the book right now, and it is intoxicating. (pun intended)

I'm not sure I could see the movie. Is it very violent? (I haven't finished the book yet)

I can't say that I loved the movie, but I did really enjoy watching it. And the movie stayed in my mind for about a week after I watched it, enough for me to go out and buy the book. While watching the movie, I found it more rewarding to experience the movie than to think about it, because while the movie was visually stunning and beautiful, there were some ideas and scenes that seemed a bit over-the-top.

I wouldn't say the movie was particularly violent. It was more suspenseful and the scenes were more disturbingly graphic than violently graphic. But even the disturbing scenes seemed very artistic. I also liked that it managed to make me root for both sides, which was very conflicting.

Overall, I'm very glad I watched it, and I could probably watch it multiple times without getting bored. While I did have to suspend belief at times during the movie, it definitely succeeded in captivating me and pulling me into his world.

The movie blew me away.

I tried to read the book, but couldn't after seeing the film. The film wasn't very realistic, but the styles and music and imagery were mind blowing, and the story was just so unique, and so wonderfully executed, that I have since seen the movie 5 or 6 times.

And I just realized that there are a couple unintentional puns in my post. Especially if you have seen the movie.

I thought it was really good. The ending was weird, and made me think I was watching a commercial. (Or rather, it reminded of a few very specific commercials.) I would recommend it if you're looking for something kind of artsy.
