It has occurred to me that while there have been a few threads about YouTube videos, there hasn't been any on Hatrackers who use YouTube and post videos.

Well, at least I haven't found any threads like that. So I might as well start.

I'm not the only one who has posted a video or two, am I?

I believed in God before watching Javert's staggeringly boring video. Now? All I can think of is: how can a God exist who would allow such things t

No, I'm only kidding.

Evolution implies morals are intrinsic, but reason implies that morals are extrinsic! Pick one! Also you really need to define morals, and differentiate which ones come from reason and which from evolution. Why is one thing moral and another thing isn't, etc.

The whole vlog concept is completely beyond me. It seems even weirder and more pointless than text messaging.

Hmmmm....I've often thought of audio-recording some of my posts on some BBs that depend on tone to convey their meaning.

About equally as pointless.

I don't text message. Probably explains why I've started vlogging.

While there is plenty wrong with the amount of time some individuals spend vlogging, instant messaging, text messaging, etc., surely you can't honestly believe that these modes of communication are pointless? They have plenty of practical applications, whether or not they are of use to you personally.

Besides, how else am I supposed to dodge my social phobia of talking on the phone? And don't tell me to get over it. That is not an option.

I love text messaging. It's like sending telegrams.

I like talking face to face, but I hate talking on the phone. Ta da, text message! Especially when it is for something purely logistical, or doesn't need a response.

While I have no desire to vlog, it does have some merit from a linguistic-anthropological point of view.

Text messaging is extremely useful. It lets me communicate information clearly and concisely to people who can't check e-mail from their phone.

I'm on youtube with the same username. I have one video. It is one minute long. This defines me.

I'm more a collector than a poster, obvoosly, but I've been leaning on friends to start doing videos and actually might start being a for real (though non-vlogging) Tubey pretty soon.

Text messaging is also good when the cost of the message is less than the long distance to whomever you need to call, especially if your provider rounds *up* to the nearest minute (sigh).
