Or near enough.

Usually earthquakes are fun but that one was pretty scarey. LOTS of shaking. And it seemed like it went on for a long time.

Fortunately the only casualty we suffered was a flower pot. Hope everyone else in the south bay can say the same.

Glad you're OK, earthquakes are scary, in my limited experience. Why did I think you lived in Chicago?

Would you mind saying in what city or area in South Bay you live in? Or is there already a map of it up? ... wondering if I should call family in the area.

Never mind - just found some data that it was about 5 miles NNE of Alum Rock. Sounds like a decently sized one.

Ack! Beware aftershocks, eh?

No aftershocks so far. It wasn't too strong up in Oakland, but it seemed to last a good while. Everything is still on the shelves up here.

Actually there've been dozens of aftershocks, but they've all been too small to feel.

Wow Pix,I'm glad you're ok. That link was pretty cool. I like how there is a link to Google Earth that pinpoints the exact location.

I scrolled over to the right a little and saw the 3 square for the one we had last week. It's just part of living in the West:) Anyone interested in some nice beach front property here in Nevada?

I was a little shakey (ha!) afterwards for a while. But we're both completely unhurt.

The funny thing is, I was a little down in the dumps and it cheered me up. How weird is that?
