It appears that I am for sure going to visit my in-laws for the Christmas holidays this year. I'll be flying to Seattle but I should still have access to a vehicle.

I'll be flying in on the 23rd and leaving the 27th. Since I will most likely be with just family on the 23rd through the 25th, the 26th would probably be the most ideal time to get out of Redmond, (Where they live) and go see some things in Seattle.

I'd love to have a run in with some hatrackers if any have time on the 26th. Maybe we could catch lunch or dinner, and do something else of an entertaining nature. I hear tossing snow balls from the top of the space needle is pretty awesome. [Wink]

The trip will be in about 5-6 weeks so I know that is not much for warning, but are there any Seattlite hatrackers that would like to get together?

If we wanted to do a gift exchange I would be down with that for sure, or if you guys can't make it but still have suggestions for solid places to visit in Seattle I would also greatly appreciate it.

I've been to the Space Needle and the market on Pike Street, other than that is fair game.

Squish, Juxtapose, Infrared and myself should be here - well, Jux might not be. I can't speak for the others but I'm probably okay for a meal and, depending on my schedule, wandering around Seattle and/or the surrounding areas. Is there something in particular you'd like to see? Are you looking for traditional touristy stuff, something musical, something else entirely?

Dec. 26th is a Wednesday so I've got the day off as of right now. I'm down to hang out. =) Gift exchange sounds interesting as well.

Gotta run to class, I'm pretty late as it is, but I'll try to be more specific as to what I would be interested in checking out.

Jokes on me, turns out we are leaving on the 26th but the flight leaves at 6:20pm. Which means we can still do at least lunch. Maybe meet and do something in the morning before lunch, it's up to you folks I am down with both options.

Are there any cool museums in Seattle worth visiting? I know it's nerdy but if its Dinosaurs or Kurt Cobain I'll go look at it. It would probably be really cold on the 26th, so outdoorsy stuff seems out of the question.

Apparently the wife did not spend much time, doing things in Seattle and hence does not know much of what there is to do there.

The Pacific Science Center has some dino exhibits, and other cool things. My son just had a field trip there today and he really liked it.

As a matter of fact, we had a little get-together there of Jatraquero's (adults and kidlets) a few years ago . . .

*wonders where that meet-up thread went to*

The Pacific Science Center is in Seattle Center, which is also the home of the Experience Music Project. So you can get Kurt Cobain AND Dinosaurs in one very full day. [Smile] Not two for the price of one, but pretty close.

I'm actually flying home on the 21st and I won't be back till the evening of the 26th. [Frown]

Have a good time though. Seattle is a cool town. [Smile]

OK well we are for sure flying in on the 23rd and leaving the evening of the 26th. So it sounds like a solid lunch date is in order. Would you folks be cool with something like 11:00am? We could set aside something like 2-3 hours for lunch/dillying maybe alittle bit of dallying. Hit a coffee shop after lunch, I dunno.

Erosomniac: do you know of some delicious places to eat? What options do we have?

Though you may not have time, if you're still looking for fun places to go while you're there, I'd suggest going to the Seattle Aquarium or wandering around outside the Museum of Glass in Tacoma (when I went last, I thought the walkway and stuff outside the museum were more fun than the stuff inside, though watching the glassblowers was awesome).

I know of a ton of good places to eat! It depends mostly on the following:

What kind of food do you like?
How easy will it before you to get around (e.g. will you have a car)?

Posted by BlackBlade (Member # 8376) on :

We will have a car, we are up for anything that is not super expensive, and as long as its not sea food.

I am a bit of a snob when it comes to Asian quisine as there just isn't a single good place in Utah to eat. You are the picky one if I recall so where would you be willing to go?

How about this erosomniac? You suggest three places to go to. I'll nix one, then you nix one, and we will go to wherever is left. That way you are still in effect choosing where we go, but I do have some input.

No seafood, nothing Asian, not too expensive. We're on the same page so far!

I'll get back to ya shortly.

It's getting pretty close to that time folks!

Do you have a restaurant we can meet at erosomniac? Also we will be in Redmond WA would you be willing to come down there if things get alittle tight time wise? I'd see it more as a contingency plan rather then plan A.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Keeping this on the first page until erosomniac sees it.

If I don't hear from a certain Asian kid by tomorrow I'm going to be real sad.

Messaged ya - I apologize for not seeing this earlier.

Hey no problem, I wrote an email back to you.
