A suicide bomber blows himself up and finds himself in the Pearly Gates. When he wakes, he looks around and standing there to greet him are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Robert E. Lee. Thomas Jefferson puts out his hand and says "Welcome to Heaven." A very confused bomber says, "Who are you and where are my 400 virgins?" The four men laugh and tell him, "Y'all get that wrong all the time! It not 400 virgins, its 4 dead Virginians!"

It was funnier when Robin Williams said it and proceeded to have the original Continental Congress beat the crap out of Bin Laden.

If you have to ask the question, the answer is almost always "no".

No.

Yeah, like Rivka points out, the joke instantly fails because it has to change the number.

Also, "400 Virgins" isn't close enough to "4 dead Virginians."

I didn't think so either.

If you could think of 72 famous Virginians, it would be funny just because you had to name all of them.

Well a lot of those people aren't even dead, which makes it all the more unfunny though the overkill I think is more funny than the original.

But no, I don't think the original joke is funny.
