A sneak peek at one of the dramatic scenes in 'The Golden Compass'...

Hmmmm...

Great voice for the king, but Dakota doesn't seem to really get into her part until near the end of the clip.

800 theaters are supposed to be offering preview screenings of The Golden Compass this weekend! Anyone lucky enough to be near one?

I am. I'm going with my sister Monday night. It's all first come, first serve, so we're going early. She's gonna be studying all day, but she'll bring her books with her so she can take some time off.

I rather thought she did alright. I always thought she had a ridiculous level of courage given the danger she was always in, so it fits, and the voice is good. Also learned how wrong I was pronouncing Iorek.

I'm still peeved about Ian McKellen.
