so just now i accidentally deleted my recycle bin from my desktop. now i cant find it, and i dont know how to restore it. does anyone know how to get it back? it would be a great help. thanks in advance.

Huh. This is more profound a question than it would seem. "Who deletes the deleters" [Wink]

In any case, try finding a utility from Microsoft called "Tweak UI", I think it can restore deleted desktop shortcuts.

I think if you try to delete your recycle bin, a black hole is created somewhere in the universe.

Aren't there better ways that don't involve registry hacks or reverting to default settings? I'm not trying to be critical—I just seem to remember that there's an option somewhere to show the Recycle Bin on the desktop. Of course, I'm on a Mac and don't remember where it is.

Well, if they haven't totally customized their desktop, just setting the desktop back to 'defaults" shouldn't really change much.

XP Pro actually has a setting that let you do this. I don't like having any icons on my desktop, quicklaunch is better. [Smile]
