No not me. I'm pretty sure my sender hasn't sent yet. But I know at least a few have and gifts could likely be arriving today or tommorow.
I'll just reitterate a few rules, yes gifts have to be sent by the 1st for college students and the 10th for everyone else. Please email hatrackfestivus@gmail.com when you have sent your gift so I don't have to hound people who are innocent.
Post here when your recieve your gift. As always if you have questions, post or email.

You know what's awesome? If you know the weight (or are using flat-rate packaging) you can just print out a label and postage online, then tape it to the package. And you can drop it in a drop box at the P.O. or request a carrier pickup! This is the first time I've ever done it and it was so awesome I'm doing it again. When I resume selling on eBay (I'm kind of on hiatus) I may actually buy a postage scale so I can do that all the time. No more trips to the Post Office to wait in line for the automated machine (because the other line is three times as long or the office is closed!)

Sadly the postage that prints looks like the postage that prints at the machine-- just a barcode type thingy (not actually a barcode, but a scanner code, you KWIM) and a postage amount and weight and date.
Like I said, you can order stamps online and they will be delivered to you via Priority Mail.

Derrell, he got the cd for you because he thought we liked a lot of the same kind of stuff and I like the singing cowboys; I like the singing cowboys partly 'cause the songs are fun and the music not bad, and partly 'cause my mom likes them, and she likes them because she grew up watching them with her dad, who died when she was 12. Also Roy Rogers looked a lot like her dad so she really likes him best (although she likes Gene Autry's music better.) We also live close to the Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage and went so often when I was a kid that we had a membership. We still go occasionally.

I got my gift this weekend as well! Sorry I forgot to post though - it's been one of those weeks.
Anyway, I got a lovely stocking filled with goodies from kq. I am especially fond of the little bearded ornaments and the fact that there was a long letter with explanations for every single item in the stocking. I'm also really looking forward to eating the chocolate, but I'm saving it for finals week when I'll really need it.

No, they were quite okay. My roommate and I enjoyed them immensely. I also really liked that you left the stem and leaves on them. We usually do clementines in the stockings in my family, but they don't come with anything green attached.

Hmm, I always thought that "clementine" and "satsuma" were just regional words for the same fruit. Wikipedia has assured me that this is not the case however.

I was gone over the weekend so I didn't open Emma's gift until Sunday night. I liked building some stuff with the candy legos before snacking on them (and the peanut m&m's). Mine arrived yesterday. It was such a great surprise! landybraine sent me a wonderfully huge purse that I am in love with. Also some hand made chocolates which I will be consuming soon. My gift was hand-delivered to me Wednesday evening by cmc, who was stopping through on her way to...someplace else. She was like some sort of holiday nymph who delivers gifts and vanishes into the night with a "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a..." Well, actually, she just said "Merry Christmas!" I managed to stammer a "Thank you" before she ran back into the darkness. My husband and I kept talking about how weird it was that we didn't see or hear her car. Could she have been driving a motorless vehicle pulled by magical beasts?
The gift she brought is, oh, so lovely. It's a wrought-iron candleholder in the shape of a dove clasping an olive branch in its beak. I placed it on my mantlepiece and added a red bow and a sprig of evergreen to the base. I put a treasured white candle from my wedding into the holder. She also brought a delectable chocolatey, nutty treat she called "bark" that has been completely devoured by my family (I got a little, too.). Plus a homemade card.

Received my gift today from dawnmaria. As I was reading the note and pulling out the items I very much felt like Jayne Cobb in the Firefly episode, "The Message" when he gets his hat: "Ooh, Enclosed!"
I will very much enjoy the chocolate covered peanuts (Virginian specialty) and the homemade fudge. I will also enjoy fending off the family and co-workers. My wife informed me that we have to get out decorating done, so the ornaments were well-timed. Thank You!
Also, dawnmaria, do you by chance have relative in the Danville area? I have some friends with family in the area with your same last name. Although I do realize the chance is small, I just had to ask.

Pegasus I am so glad you like your stuff! I do not have any relatives in Danville. The name on the package is my married name. I did live in Danville when I was a small child. Pre-K thru 1st grade. My husband's family is not as tight knit as mine so he may have a whole parcel of people down there he's related to and not know it! They're the type of people that only see each other at weddings and funerals while my family can't change their brand of laundry detergent without a full fledged family meeting! I like my way better!

I have gotten a card from my gifter: Synesthesia. It's got bunnies on it - which is kind of natural, since she has a bunny. The card says that the gift is on the way: books. Books are good. We live in a small town of about 600 population. We see bunnies here from time to time. I see them chasing each other in the spring. I really get to see them all year round. Monday night, on the way home from work, I had to stop and let four deer cross the road, one after another. It's kind of cool to see nature around like that.
Last year in May, I took a picture of a baby bunny in my front yard. I got about four feet away and put my camera on closeup, holding my hand as close as I dared. I took a few pictures before he finally took off.

I got a wonderful box from Dark as Night today!! She found me some really cute musical frogs and delicious chocolate. She also included Christmas mix CDs of her favorite music (I really like Celtic music and several of them are Celtic tunes) and crocheted a cap for our little girl (who should be arriving any day now - it'll be great for going outside in the winter time). -a tub of Moon Sand (which Phil promptly stole from me and started to play with) -a box of mint tea -a silicone baking mat (I've never tried one of these before) -2 rubber powered airplanes (which we used to torment our chihuahuas with) -a card game called, "Unexploded Cow"

I got my gift today! I got my gift!
CaySedai sent me a very pretty stained glass Christmas tree light-catcher! The little angel on top is so totally my style-- actually the whole thing is, but the angel especially! I didn't see until I held it up to the light that the glass of the tree even has little frost-like designs in it, so pretty.
Another decoration to add to my "where am I going to put this so the kids and cats don't break it" Christmas decorations, along with my ceramic nativity! (No, really, I love it, and I don't want it broken!)
AND she sent it packed with a stuffed snowman and penguin-- AND a JINGLE BELL and candy cane-- which I think will quite effectively distract the kids from the real gift. Maybe I will put it up on a shelf where I can see it but they won't touch it, and just not point it out so Emma isn't tempted to climb up and grab it...
Bridget's gift came today, too, but I will wait to open it until she's awake so I can record every aspect of her reaction.

Thank you Erosomniac! Your gift arrived today, and it was just what I was hoping to get. I got not one, but two incredibly soft warm scarves. They are perfect for keeping me warm (I'm wearing one right now, because even inside the house, I'm chilly. And besides, a cold caught me, which is making me feel chillier still). Besides warm and soft, they are very pretty, too. They are both striped my favorite way -- longitudinally, rather than horizontally. One is the colors of cream, cocoa, coffee and caramel, and the other is the colors of cream, saffron, persimmon, and dark chocolate. My son said that one is beige and one is orange, but he has no élan, you know?
The gift is well appreciated and will get tons of use both inside the house and outside as well. And they are pretty enough that I can carry off making them a part of my outfit at work, which is very nice, since I'm always too cold at work, too. Death of Bees sent a box full of dress up Beautiful Lady things for pretend play! My favorites so far are the red purse, the red scarf, and the wrapping paper. And there are lots of things (two pairs of gloves, two purses, two scarves, two bracelets) so I can share with my sister, who gets kind of grabby with my stuff sometimes.

Bridget, I'm so glad you like your dressup box. The red purse was hard to part with, actually. I tried to make sure everything in there would be play-worthy, since I never liked it when my mother would confiscate my gifts and say something like, "Oh, this will be such fun when you're a little older..." I'm glad you're willing to share with your sister, too. An actress must have dialogue scenes to make her monologues that much more effective.
kq, sorry about the packing peanuts! I didn't want the bow to get smooshed, but I forgot Bridget would probably want to munch on them.

That's okay, she lost interest quickly when she saw other things, and we'll get them out before the cat finds them (he likes to make them into little tiny pieces, THEN eat them.)
She still loves the wrapping paper, though. And the red purse will get much love around here-- when I was little they called me "the bag lady" because I was ALWAYS carrying a purse or handbag, or failing that putting things in a grocery bag and carrying it around, and the girls both seem to take after me in that respect! Bridget spent 10 full minutes (usually she has a 3 minute attention span) opening and closing that purse and putting things in it before she moved on, and she carried it with her for half an hour in her other play even after that.

I got my gift today from Pegasus! He sent a book about classic cars made and sold in Maine, it was also signed by the author. He also sent some yummy cookies that his wife made (KQ wants the recipe) and some salt water taffy! KQ had been craving salt water taffy and I hadn't had it in at least 5 years, so that was a good gift. Thanks Pegasus! I am now hiding the cookies from everyone so that I get some more.

I can't take credit for the bell and candy cane, though. The shop owner wrapped the box - she does that extra touch, which is part of the reason I like to go there. The shop is called Mrs. Tildo's Attic.

I got Hank's package today. I got... balloons (very fun. i'll probably be saving those for when it gets a little warmer then i'm gonna fill them with water and huck them at unsuspecting passers-by. i think that's a constructive use for them, no?) and crayons (a whole box of 24. i'm going to snack on them this afternoon while i watch football... who needs chips and dip?!) and cards (with a very cool picture on the front. the cards are the kind that i can fill with my sometimes ridiculous babbling... and since there's a quality painting on the front maybe the recipients won't mind my rambling so much.) and some tea (awesome sounding flavor. very nice because i like tea, i drink it pretty much every day and new flavors are good!) and tissue paper (white. still folded. perfect for wrapping a different gift in. pay it forward, right? ; ) ) and two composition books (awesome. and the backs aren't too rigid so i can bend them and roll them and all that stuff - kind of like when you're breaking in a new hat? yeah - that's what i do to those type books.) and a card (late, shmate. the waiting's half the fun! glad you feel better. merry christmas to you, too!).
I'm pretty happy... so thanks for the really cool stuff!!!

My gift arrived this afternoon! Leonide gave me the coolest hand-painted wooden box with a sun and moon and stars painted on it, along with a very pretty wooden tulip. Excellent choices, as I love spring flowers, and celestial-type decorations! My bedroom all through high school was painted like a big mural of the sky.
Also, the box will be a wonderfully upgraded home for all my trinkets/hair elastics/jewellery/little stuff, which currently resides in an empty margarine container.

Coccinelle, I'm so glad you liked everything! And I'm glad that the earwarmer fits. I had so much fun cutting out the snowflakes. It made me feel like a kid again. I don't know if you noticed, but one of the snowflakes ended up looking kind of like reindeer faces. Unintentional, but cool nonetheless.
It was hard not to snag one of those chocolates, you know, just to make sure they were good. Glad you're enjoying them.

It's packed full of artwork, drawings, photographs, and patterns documenting all aspects of fashion through the 19th century. Yay, I got my gift! Thank you Plaid, for the cotton fluff, the sweet potato (hee), the pumpkin butter, and the beans.
The beans are so pretty that I'm tempted to just keep them in a jar in my kitchen, but I'll probably try to grow some when we move to a place where growing beans is allowed.
For some reason, when I read your note I didn't realize that there was an actual sweet potato in the box - that was a funny surprise! We were asked to bring mashed potatoes for a Christmas feast, so that purple fellow might end up cooked and eaten before too long.
I was curious about pumpkin butter when I saw it at Trader Joe's, but I didn't want to impulse buy. Now I have some that's probably even better, so I'm glad I didn't! Thank you .
I've not come up with a plan yet for the cotton fluff - I will have to consult my sister in law, the knitter - but it certainly is lovely to look at. Thanks again for the awesome gifts!

I got mine today!!!! I was so excited! Dead_Horse sent me the most amazing box of stuff. My presents were neatly packed not in peanuts, but in a beautiful orange and blue comforter. Did you make it yourself for me? I absolutely LOVE the colors. Orange is my favorite!
I also got two great CDs with traditional Celtic music, which I adore. A kazoo, which my nephews snatched up right away and had a lot of fun with. And last but not least, a bag of Ohio buckeyes. I'm glad that you wrote "DO NOT EAT" on the bag, because my 6 year old nephew tried to open and taste them while I was looking at the CDs. When I said he couldn't eat them, he said, "OK, can I go feed them to the squirrels?"

I'm glad you like your gifts. I did make the comforter, just before we started the gift exchange. But I picked it out especially for you, because of it's colors. If I had made it after the names were assigned, it would have been much bigger, like to fit on a bed, or maybe as a larger throw. But then it would have had to be different, because that's all the orange and blue fabric I had.
I don't know if squirrels eat buckeyes. Maybe...because they eat acorns, and they are sort of similar.
The music is the Appalachian version of traditional Celtic The hammered dulcimer players on the Christmas CD are state champions in Kentucky (but from Ohio), and the lady on the Dogwood CD lives here in Coshocton County. In Roscoe Village they have several festivals a year devoted to music, and one of them is the Dogwood Festival held in the spring when the dogwood trees bloom.
Roscoe Village is a restored canal-era village. It was used in the movie "Centennial". Wildwood Music is in Roscoe Village in what used to be the lockkeeper's house.

I got my gift! Not today--I got it several days ago, but I waited until today to open it, since it's a Christmas gift (!) and so I wasn't sure who sent it to me until I opened it. It was from kmbboots! (Right? That's how I'm parsing the name . . .) Anyway, I'm glad I opened it tonight instead of waiting until tomorrow. It was kitchen stuff! Disney kitchen stuff! She sent me a tri-circle cutting board and a pair of Mickey cheese spreaders. Amazingly, all are dishwasher safe (it would never have occurred to me that that wooden board would be). I'll be getting use out of all of them tonight!

Dead Horse: I'm so glad you liked the book and that you did not already have it. It was the first thing I thought of when I read that you like historical costuming, having almost "lost" it from the library several times myself before finally buying a copy. I gave it to my mother a few years back and it was the best present I have ever given.

The rings fit me perfectly (how did you do that?) and match a large portion of my wardrobe. I've worn them almost every day since they arrived. They are beautiful, you are very talented.
The crosstitch kit is wonderful. I haven't had very much spare time lately, and it is just the right size and complexity that I will actually be able to do it and complete it in a reasonable amount of time. And it comes with a frame! Finishing is always the hardest part for me. I have several projects that are completely finished crosstitch wise, but have not made it to the walls as I didn't bother finding a frame to finish it off. So I am quite pleased to not have to worry about that with this project.
The recipes look delicious. I can't wait to try them out. I love trying out recipes from different countries. I've never tried Spanish food before; I'm looking forward to it.
And the oven mitt is just perfect. My favorite color, and the secure grip . . . well it will be used. Thank you so much.

It's soap! It's wool covered almond soap, you don't need to use a washcloth. It might not suds well for a few washes but then it will be amazing.

Ah! My gifter turned out to be kwsni -- the name on the package looked kinda familiar, and it's because I gave her stuff in the gift exchange, letsee, 3 or 4 years ago?
Anyway, she gave me CDs from a couple local Virginia bands -- Sparky's Flaw and Sons of Bob -- and since they're local I can catch them in Richmond or Charlottesville sometime, neat!
(Haven't actually listened to them yet, since we've got Xmas carols playing on the house stereo, so musical report later!)

I honestly would not mind living in or near Seattle, I like the state of Washington alot. Next time we visit we will definately go to Seattle proper.
Next time you feel the crazy need to go to Las Vegas for a concert, drive through Utah and spend the night at our place so it's not such a marathon!

Sorry for posting late! My brother's birthday is today, so it's been basically three days of family dinners and cookies and busy time.
I got on Christmas Eve (waiting for me at home at 11:50 p.m.) a package from Kasie (I don't now her alias...).
It was the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Game, with a note explaining how she had originally planned to send a bottle of St. John's College Tawney Port but USPS wouldn't send it...so instead she sent her favorite drinking game! Thanks! It's awesome. I can't wait to play it.
I love it, and hope you enjoy the port which you couldn't send. It's like I forced you to buy alcohol for yourself! I'm so tricksy...

Sorry that I've been offline for a bit. I am so glad you liked your gifts. The rings are a variation on a twisted wire-wrap ring technique. They are fun and cute and not as hard as you might think to make. Most of the time I make them with swirls, but the beads add a nice touch of color.
I agree with the recipes. (Use the oven mitt in good health.)
Oh, and I am so glad you liked the needlework kit. I got that from my local craft shop where I buy my beads for my jewelry. When I saw it, I was so excited that it included a frame. I agree that the hardest thing about any project is figuring out how to finish it.

Though I've stayed pretty local for Christmas, I finally went by my apartment yesterday to find Jaiden's gift to me -- a lovely purple knit scarf and lavender lotion. Thank you so much, Jaiden! My fiancee says the scarf looks really good with my winter coat.

You're welcome! I'm so glad you got it and like it. Sorry it was late! I was so disappointed when I found out it got there a day after you left. But it took a long time to write, and also I found myself unable to stop watching the show to write the poem for a lot of that week. (I was just going to watch two episodes to get a feel for it, honestly, I really was. I have now watched Seasons 1 *and* 2, *and* part of 3. And got two other people hooked on it. And have been told repeatedly by roommates and friends to stop mentioning how everything that happens "is just like in Doctor Who when...")
And sorry the poem is so long! I had planned on a sensible 2 or 3 pages, but I had hardly got into it by then, and things just kept happening I hadn't planned, like Hermione and everyone showing up, and then it just sort of wrote itself and demanded to be that long.

Well, talk about coincidence, I send (and hope she recieved) Kassi H a couple of books by Robert Laxalt hoping to give her a feel for my home in Nevada. Both books have to do with the Basque experience here. Today, I recieved my gift from anti-maven. (after an involved reminder of why I always use the brown trucks when I need more service than the USPS can provide.) It is a great book, Ezagutu Euskal Herria (discover the Basque homeland) Now I have the starting point for that large group that finished here in Northern Nevada. Fortunatly it has translations in both Spanish and English. As many of you know, Euskadi is so dificult that it is the only language the Devil never learned to speak. This accounts for the temperment of "Los Vascos." Thanks Richard! This is new territory and I will enjoy the visit.

Artemesia, you are most welcome, and I'm sorry for the grief with Fedex. I hope you enjoy the photos and are tempted to visit in real life - I'd be happy to take you out for a pintxo or three!
I myself don't have Basque heritage, but I do live in the Basque country, and I can fully understand why the devil never learned the language! However, it's great fun learning, and always nice to surprise the locals with a phrase or two as an Euskaldun berri-berria (a very novice Basque speaker )

Icarus, Sorry, I'm not Vasco, just Western. I'm a part of that group that considers the East Coast to start at the Cheyenne, Denver, Albuquerque axis. My personal heritage is Danish (and Mexican). But I have a great intrest in, and affinity for, all of the groups of the Great Basin.

I got an awesome gift from Valentine014! I got a Red-Necked Wallaby! I'm the adopted parent and it's at the Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. Apparently it likes to hop and it eats wild grasses,, leaves and brush. I'll have to link a picture when I get my scanner up and running.
