Oh, the little guy looks cute!

Do you think the artists are paying homage to the robot from "Short Circuit?" The head is quite similar.

Dunno, but they effectively did give him eyebrows and the ability to make expressions.

From what I recall, Andrew Stanton said WALL-E's design was partially inspired by one of the robots seen on the Jawa barge in the original Star Wars.

I got to see this one while at JPL last month. ATHLETE. Posted by brojack17 (Member # 9189) on :
It's PIXAR, so I'm definitely going to a screening as soon as I can.

Awww. Also, Pixar= at least a cute movie, if not good

I love Pixar movies and I like robots, so this seems like a good match for me. I'm interested in seeing more of the plot of the movie, but the little snippets are at least cute and sort of funny. It's on my list of must see movies for next year.

Mmm... I think I know the robot you speak of. Still think he looks like Short Circuit.
Hopefully they won't pull out the, "oh no, I have high tech weaponry inside that I can't be trusted to entirely control! Should I self euthanize?!"
That plot device has been used JUST enough to be fine so far, but old if it's used again.

I wouldn't think Pixar would use the self-euthanize concept. But they had a bastard in Ratatouille, so I guess anything's possible.

pooka, explain?
Posted by Puffy Treat (Member # 7210) on :
Well, Ratatouille did feature an illegitimate child, but made it obvious that one parent had kept the other parent in the dark about the existence of their offspring.
BlackBlade, from what I know of WALL-E's plot, you won't have to worry about seeing that.
