What's up with OSC talking about CompUSA as if it's shutting down? (Link)

Is there something to this? The CompUSAs around here seem hale and hearty.

It took a bit of looking but I found a press release detailing their acquisition by Gordon Brothers Group Affiliate and plans for the stores, website, and brand in general.

All the ones by me in the western Chicago burbs have been closed down for quite a while. The last one I could find shut its doors roughly 9 months ago.

The one near me shut down while I was away at school. It's a shame; they had a really nice selection of joysticks and PC game controllers.

I recently saw that one of the local CompUSA stores is having a 30% off sale. I'm trying to decide if I should really expect to find anything good or if it would just be me justifying another video game purchase [Smile]

I went in last week. Everything in my area's a measly 10% off -- after they increased the prices by around 10% -- except for ink cartridges. And sadly, the ink cartridges for my particular model of Epson printer were already out of stock. So it's not worth vulturing.
