So far, I've watched none of the actual seasons on TV--I started watching Season 1 at the beginning of Season 3, I think.

I have now watched 2 of the 6 DVDs for Season 3, which means that I will probably be caught up by the time Season 4 starts. If it's going to air on Thursday nights, I can probably actually catch the shows as they air.

The question is, will I enjoy the experience, or will I become one of those people who rants at the writers/producers/studio execs on a regular basis? I don't have a DVR, so if I miss a show I miss it and I'll have to try to catch it online, and of course there will be no back-to-back Lost watching marathons.

I'm already doing some anticipatory studio-exec grumbling -- settle with the writers already so that we won't have an interminable hiatus! (But, yeah, it's not stopping me from watching those DVDs, I'm afraid.)

It's ok. No one is making any money on those DVD's. You aren't helping or hurting anything. [Smile]

That's part of where the big stink is: the writers accepted an absurdly low cut of DVD sales to settle their last contract. And while the residuals from reruns are falling, the "producers" (ie network executives) are now making BIG moolah off of DVDs.
