Why do I get the sinking feeling that Persepolis will never hit local theaters, but this film just might? Not to knock it. Indie studios trying to compete with the big ones should be encouraged.

Still, this looks very generic and unattractive.

Still worse, Eric Idle got himself involved. He's one of the voices.

Are they dinosaurs or fairies?? I'm confused.

They're a combo of both. Dinairies! [Razz]

Maybe it's a war between fairies and dinosaurs.

Tinkerbell and her friends are going to be up in arms about the raptors moving in and it's going to go downhill from there.

Until Little Foot and Chrysta (the one who saved Fern Gully) make a peace treaty.

I didn't even bother looking at the site itself, or watching the trailer. It looks hideous enough as it is. Dinosaurs are not supposed to look that humanoid, or vice versa; they just aren't!

Whatever the case, this one is probably going to be recieved just as amazingly as... oh... what was its name... Doogal.

Let's derail this into a Persepolis thread.

Looks like a cult-classic in the making to me. It'll be so bad that it will have to be good.

I really want to see Persepolis. The graphic novels are wonderful. The trailer looks great. But it seems as if it'll hit my area the Tenth of Never. [Frown]

The really weird thing: I just found an old animation magazine that I bought way back in the winter of 1999. It has an article on "Delgo, coming to theaters everywhere the summer of 2000!"

So this film's been in production a -long- time.

The article had a plot outline describing it as an "eco-fable" and images of characters only slightly less crude looking than those seen in the current site.

Not a good sign. [Razz]

Sounds like vitamin suppositories to me.

I watched the trailer for Delgo. I don't think there's any way I could enjoy that film. There are better movies with the same message, without all the weird looking people, bad acting, and preachy script.

There's a good chance I'd enjoy Persepolis, but that's only because....

(to the tune of "Alouette")

"IIIII love French films, pretentious boring French films, IIIII love French Films, two tickets s'il vous plaît!"

Persepolis isn't quite a "French" film, though the author does currently live in France. [Cool]
