I bought a watch off of Woot about a week ago and it just came in... And its too big. Like, a lot to big. Not so big I can just slip my hand through, but big enough that it just kind of hangs off of my wrist...
Does anyone know where I could take that to get it fixed? Or is there some magic size adjustment in watches I can't find?

I think? I don't know a whole lot about watches... This is honestly the first one I've owned since an awesome Pokémon watch I had in 6th grade -_-

Most jewelry stores should be able to do it. They'll just take a few links out of the band.

If you look on the inside of the watchband, the links nearest to the clasp may have a small hole that allows you to push a piece (like a key) of the link out of the side of the band. There may also be an arrow on the link showing you which way to push to get the key out.
On my watch there were originally 6 adjustable links on each side of the clasp. You have to remove the same number of links from each side of the clasp in order to keep the clasp centered on your wrist. So you remove a total of 4 keys, to discard a couple of links on each side of the clasp, and then you put the band back together with two keys.

I work at JCPenney's, as the Jewelry Manager. Yes, we can do it, usually for about $10. That's cheaper than most places, and it can usually be done as you wait.

When I had it done at Walmart, they did it for free. I did buy the watch there, but I brought it back later for sizing and they didn't ask.

if you can find the same watch you have at a Nordstrom department store, just tell them you bought it there but dont have your receipt. they should fix it for free.
Story Time:
I got my watch at Nordstrom and scratched up the face pretty good, so they replaced it for me for free. Then i practically broke the darn thing when i fell at a party. I took it in again and they located another of the exact same watch in a store in another state, had it shipped here, and replaced mine with the brand new one for free! Nordstrom maybe be a bit pricier than other stores, but their return policy is great.

i never lied to them about my watch. Their customer service is just really awesome.
And my ex and her mom work there and that kind of thing is happening a lot. if you think it's morally bad enough to not do it, then don't. just giving Ginol a free way to get the watch fixed.

I, uh, wouldn't do that.
So! My watch now fits. It was pretty exciting (well, as exciting as getting a watch refitted can be). I went to JCPenney, but they couldn't do it since I didn't buy the watch there (they were scared they would break it and not be able to replace it...). Same think at Kohl's.
I then went to Wal*Mart, but the one jewelry lady there was piercing a bunch of girls' ears or something or other like that. I would have waited, but there was this really trashy woman waiting there was well who kept swearing into her cell phone.
So, I went to our ghetto mall (its closest) to see if any of the other department stores could do it, but BAM! There's a watch repair shop right at the entrance that I never noticed. He fixed it pretty quick. Cost me $8, but that's okay.
So, victory!

Just so you know, that isn't company policy. What JCPenney did you go to?
We size most watches, but we charge if you don't have a receipt. The sales person just didn't feel like doing it, or was trained wrong.
