The new "Prince Caspian" one-sheet!

I like it. [Cool]

*bounce*

Why is May 16th so far away?

That Ben Barnes is one handsome young man.

I wonder if the title of this thread refers to Caspian.

It doesn't fit the Pevensie kids.

I imagine it's probably something Caspian's tutor (who was a closet dwarf, if you recall) told him during the lessons in which he informed Caspian of what was really going on in their kingdom.

I like that poster.

We should make a list of all those fantasy movie trailer openers. It's an art form unto itself. How many ways can you say "This movie will change your world by making you believe in things you didn't think possible"?

"We are totally going to blow your mind... without the use of recreational pharmaceuticals."

I love the little Reepicheep at the bottom. Nice!

Maybe they can go for a less is more approach and just say "CHANGE!" but with fancier fonts and colors and such. Really do a job of it.

From what I've heard, it's a reference to when Cornelius tells Caspian the truth about his uncle and about Narnian history.

The "Prince Caspian" SuperBowl spot is now online...

Mostly stuff seen in the teaser, though there are a couple new shots of Caspian, Miraz, the Hag, and the Werewolf.

I don't remember there being a big battle, just a square off between Peter and Miraz. I also thought Caspian was blonde.

There's a big battle once Peter beats Miraz. I didn't it was THAT big, though.

The Battle involves a couple of local deities as well as Aslan himself, so yeah, I think it's a big one.

The title is near-quoted by Aslan in the trailer.

The book describes several battles between Caspian's outnumbered army of Old Narnians with Miraz's vast number of Telmarine soldiers.

Including a second Battle of Beruna after the Peter/Miraz fight.

They didn't cast a blond actor. [Smile]

Well...I'll put it this way: Aslan awakens the tree spirits, the river spirits, summons several potent pagan nature deities...Lewis describes some pretty remarkable, awe-inspiring things in that battle. [Smile]

We'll see how this one turns out. The one I'm holding out for is VDT.

Silver Chair was my favorite, but VDT should be the most visually impressive. But I kind of have a thing for ships and deep blue water, picturesque islands, and, of course, dragons.

I am curious to see if they will do all seven books.

I have never been a fan of Silver Chair, but I listened to an audio version of it recently and the guy that does the swamp wiggle thingy's voice was very good, gave me a new impression of the book.

The Last Battle would be a great visual stunner as well, at the end in particular.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader is quite possibly the best of the Narnia books. Had Lewis stopped there, the series would have been perfect.

I like that he put more proactive, fully-dimensional female characters into the post-Treader books. Not that I hate the earlier Narnia stories. By no means. But it's definitely a turning point.

Of course, the strongest female Lewis characters don't appear until one reads Till We Have Faces.

I agree about Dawn Treader, but feel compelled to add that the best scene in the series is actually in The Silver Chair when Jill meets Aslan. Lewis really makes his very difficult distinction of "Good but not Safe" crystal clear in that one.

Till We Have Faces vies with Perelandra in my mind as the best Lewis book ever.

If they were to make The Space Trilogy into full-length films, I would be very, very happy. I don't care what OSC's take on the series is, I loved the books. I mean, Out of the Silent Planet is absolutely beautiful. It's his most visually stunning series.

Merlyn rocks, too. That's a high point of the series.

The movie Jumpers just wants to remind you that Everywhere is Possible.

The Silver Chair was always my favorite, but VDT was quite good.

We were also speculating on whether they will do all 7. The timing of VDT and TSC will be dictated by the ages of the actors. I'd imagine they wind up producing things in the order they were published, though I guess doing TMN first would give Susan and Lucy some time to age before TH&HB.
