I've seen all the episodes of the first season. They vary from pretty good to very corny. The Pilot Special is especially good, put episode 1 is probably the worst. It's interesting and sweet and hopeful and can be a bit scary, but it's a difficult age to write for, I think and it loses track itself a bit.
Worth taking a look at though, if you enjoy being a kid again.

Very much a kid's show, but it's meant to be. It can be cute.
I like that they've got pretty much all the bases covered - Torchwood for grown-ups, Sarah Jane for little people, Doctor Who for everyone inbetween. No-one gets left out.

Although Sarah Jane scared my fifteen year old sister, and is totally out for my eight year old sister, who's arguably fairly close to the bracket. But my family is notably sensitive.
