Tilda Swinton who played the white witch in Disney's Chronicles of Narnia the Lion Witch and the Wardrobe, just won an Oscar for Michael Clayton.

While IMDBing her I noticed and remembered from the trailor that she will be taking up her role as the White Witch again in this years Prince Caspian.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the White Witch is only mentioned in Prince Caspian not featured. Rather than read Prince Caspian in the next few hours I thought I would turn to the kind people of Hatrack.

There is a passing image of her in the trailer, and that's about all I know. She is referred to but does not appear in the book.

The Hag, Nikabrik, and the Wer-Wolf will summon up an image of Jadis, the White Witch.

In the book the Hag and Nikabrik mention the possibility of doing this, noting: "Whoever heard of a witch who really died? You can get them back. You can always get them back."

Other than the image, the scene is supposed to play out closely to the way it does in the book.

Thank You for clarifying Puffy. I thought they did a wonderful interpretation in the first movie and was nervous they may screw it up with Caspian.

Would anyone else love to see the Magicians Nephew made into a movie. I think its my favorite of all The Chronicles of Narnia.

As long as the films do good box office, they plan to adapt the entire series.

They need to do it quick, because Swinton is aging rapidly.

She was pretty funny in her acceptance speech.

She's amazingly pale.

I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to find another tall, pale, gaunt woman to play a "young Jadis", even if she is supposedly immortal.

They could also do what X-3 did, and use digital FX to de-age her.

Her acceptance speech was probably the best of the whole night! I have no idea who she is, but I love her now. [Razz]

I loved her speech, anyone who takes Clooney down a peg is a star in my book.

Is there a video floating around anywhere on the interwebs?

Who got de-aged in X-3?

My first thought was Hugh Jackman, since Wolverine isn't supposed to age very fast... But I didn't think he was that old. Ian McKellan? Someone else?

Ian and Patrick Stewart were de-aged for the Jean Grey flashback.

I wouldn't.

I would "rawr" (make a tiger noise) I'm straight and married but a date with George Clooney would be dreamy

I was going for Porter-esque hyper-literalness. [Smile]

I'd rather date a leper than Clooney, much less of a pretentious git.

I like pretentious gits, thank you very much.
