This has nothing to do with Blayne except that his thread sparked my interest.

I find it interesting that there are few cases in Canadian history that set precident for the copying of printed works. The law is somewhat clear (especially about importing works from other countries), but isn't very clear with regards to domestic creations.

There's talk of Fair Dealing which appears to be similar to the US's Fair Use, but that seems to be limited to making partial copies of material for personal use or study.
