I was away for the weekend when they were giving out all the tickets for the event, so I went into the local office this morning to ask about them.

Apparently everyone neglected to inform me that they had set aside tickets for local volunteers. As I remember it, the conversation went something like this:

Are there any tickets for tonight available?

nope sorry. all gone...

<I begin to weep uncontrollably>

...unless you're on a team.

<a smile begins to light up my face as I wipe the tears from my eyes>

well what are the odds! I just happen to be on team 10.

what's your name?

Greg Nirshberg.

oh, your tickets are right here Greg. thanks for being awesome.

no...THANK YOU for being awesome!

<we high 5>

<--excited...I hope I don't faint! [Smile]

If you do faint, be sure to be captured on camera. [Smile] Enjoy.

I think the story may continue to get better and better as the day progresses. By the end it'll be of mythic proportions.

Strider: Define mythic proportions.

Obama gives you CPR personally after fainting at said event, and saves your life. He is then viewed as a literal savior of the average American. Hillary in the aftermath says, "I can't compete with that, I'm dropping out." Republicans start looking at John McCain and think, "Do we really want him administering CPR when America needs it?" A few key Republicans endorse Obama and heeding their lead a controlling majority of the party follows suit. This ushers in a new, "Era of Good Feelings," where in reality there isn't bipartisanship. Most legislation then combines the creativity of liberalism and the wisdom of conservatism. This lasts at least 8 years with no end in sight.

Or were you going in another direction?

What weird alternate universe did you pull that from?

i was referring to the fact that I've edited the story now three times, and may continue to do so. But your story is pretty awesome too. I'll do my best to bring it to fruition.

Oh I dunno, I was doing algebra at the time, that may explain some of it.

I don't know. I remember him being announced and walking out on stage...the next thing i know I wake up this afternoon in a hospital. What happened???

Seriously though, it was cool. I can't say that he said all that much that I hadn't already heard. But it awesome to be there and see him, the crowd was super excited, and it's re-motivated me to work harder over the next couple weeks before the primary.

When I saw Obama speak, I woke up the next morning in an ice cube filled bath tub, one kidney lighter. You wouldn't happen to have any crudely sutured incisions in your lower back, would you?
