I really have to watch "The Sarah Connors Chronicles"!

And that was hilarious. [Big Grin]

The three parts of Journal are amazing, too.

Journal
Journal 2
Journal 3

I cannot wait to see what happens next. Though judging by the time he waits between installments, it may be a while.

As far as XKCD storylines go, I really liked the barrel storyline.

As with all things XKCD, don't forget to read the alt text.

Maybe I'm really dumb, but...alt text?

Posted by ricree101 (Member # 7749) on :

If you leave your mouse cursor over the pictures for a few seconds, addition text should be displayed.

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Holy cow! And I already thought xkcd was hilarious!

Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :

Now it's like you have a whole new archive of comics to read, eh?

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Why does it cut off the end of the alt text sometimes?

Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :

I don't recall noticing it do that. Could you link to one that's messed up?

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

It's like the text won't fit. Do I need to use a different browser or change my settings?

Here's an example:

This is what this one says on my screen:

"I never understood why someone would expect me to accept their rules right after the..."

Posted by Uprooted (Member # 8353) on :

" . . . right after they'd punched me. I'm sure it's all very symbolic or something."

I don't know why it cuts off! Mine always shows the complete text, but sometimes it just goes away before I finish reading it, and then it won't come back up again if I mouse over unless I refresh the page.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

Right click on the picture and choose properties. Then you can scroll the alt text in the popup window.

Sad! It's something about my Firefox. They work just fine on Explorer.

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Oops, I'm slow...Thanks, Dagonee!

Posted by Strider (Member # 1807) on :

or just install this.

"...y'd punched me. I'm sure it's all very symbolic or something."

I don't know why it's cutting off for you. What browser are you using?

Actually, are you sure the "y" isn't there? It might be cutting off at the apostrophe for you. Wouldn't that be interesting.

Better yet, install this.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

Try this extension for firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1715

It's a bug in Firefox that's been around for ages. Don't worry, they fixed it for Firefox 3. If you'd like you can try the Firefox 3 betas rather than downloading extensions. But they're a little buggy so... *Shrug*

I enjoyed the "banging your mom" humor in "Before Sunrise". xkcd is pretty funny.

I loved Xenocide! It was better than Speaker, although too different from Ender's Game to be compared.`

Posted by Strider (Member # 1807) on :

I think there are a lot of us for whom Xenocide is our favorite. I wonder if that's a percentage that's disproportionately high among Hatrackers or if he's just wrong.

No. Xenocide was [Wall Bash] for me. Speaker was my favorite in the series.

I'm so excited to find out about those captions. I wonder how it was never mentioned since about 5 other people I know in real life read that comic nearly every day. ::runs off to re-read EVERYTHING!:: [Big Grin]
