Since I'm moving soon, I put my Netflix subscription on hold so they didn't send any movies to the wrong address and so didn't have to try and keep track of the two movies while moving, etc.

I would still like, however, to be able to view movies instantly. I don't know of any way of allowing me to do this without also having Netflix send me my next movies to my current address short of erasing my entire queue (which is 335 large).

Any suggestions?

While it's on hold do you not pay for it? If so, sign up under a different e-mail address, etc. for a new account, don't put anything in that queue, watch instantly all you want, then cancel and reactivate the one with your queue when you are done moving.

That's all I can think of...

When we moved we waited for the movie to get to us then just mailed it off after the move.

If you're not paying for it, I don't think you'd be able to watch instantly. Is there a friend or relative you trust who might like to get your mailed discs until you get your mailing situation working again? You could "loan" your account that way, which would keep your watch instantly available.

I understand what you're trying to do, and it seems reasonable. You can call and talk to a live person at 1-888-638-3549. (I found that number on the Netflix help center from my membership page. If you go there, you'll get an identification number that will speed up the phone process - or so they say).

Good luck. I hope your move goes smoothly.

Okay, cool... I was hoping there was some hidden feature I wasn't seeing that stopped the delivering of discs, but kept the account active. That would make sense now that there's the Watch Instant feature.

Ah well. Thanks for your help. I'll probably delete this in a while unless someone objects.

When I've called Netflix customer service, I've found them to be super helpful. Perhaps you could try that and see if they can give you guidance.

This was the advice I was given by a former Netflix employee:

Hold on to discs you already have in hand until moving day. Change your shipping address a day or two before moving, then send back your returns the day you move, and the new movies should go to your new address.

I've frequently changed my address for just a few days when I've traveled. Today, for instance, I'm going to Honolulu for the weekend and I put my friend's address so that we'll have some movies to watch while I'm there. It's always worked very smoothly.
