So today I remembered this scene from a movie in which someone was updating the phone book - reading the obituaries and scratching out the names of the people who had died from the phone book.
Or was it a book? I can't remember! It's making me crazy. Anyone? Before I start clawing at my eyes?

In the beginning of "The Verdict" Paul Newman's character is I think doing something similar. Not sure though...

Call me crazy, but I think Phoebe's grandmother does that in the episode of "Friends" where Phoebe finds out her dad's still alive.
