This and some more tidbits from Zack and Debbie Snyder.

So, I'm wondering how "awesome" Doctor Manhattan will really look. Being a bald, glowing blue nudist seems to work better when one is drawn by Dave Gibbons.

It's online. Empire released it this morning, but the site died.

But still... it's online. Somewhere. [Wink]

Right there, I'm impressed. Seemed to have a different vibe than the graphic novel. But that could just be editing for the trailer.

Go back and read Enig's non-spoiler thread again, Puffy, he left you a note. [Smile]

Definitely a different vibe than the comic. And seeing Night Owl in so many action scenes certainly raises an eyebrow. Still, it sure is pretty.

A better version, in crisp clean QuickTime.

Doooooooooood
I don't know if it's because they slowed everything down to make it look extra dramatic, but that actually looks HALFWAY COOL!

Now if the whole movie is as good as the trailer.

I wonder if they are going to to HTW all through Dr. M's nekkid scenes... That made me laugh so hard in Beowulf.

Not in love with the muscle suits though. I fail to see how that would be comfortable to wear when one is fighting crime.

It looks awesome on the big screen. Made me wanna read the graphic novel.

Anyone notice that the music in the background is the theme for Batman and Robin, completely rewritten and rerecorded? It's like they're making a statement of some kind. "Remember old superhero movies? We're doing something new."

I believe it stands for "Hide The Weenie".

Basically, strategic placement of scenery and effects to hide the... er... you know.

This choice has caused no end of gripes on the various comic fans message boards and blogs: "Already, we can tell it will completely suck because it's using a Batman & Robin song!" [Roll Eyes]

I thought the music fit the trailer pretty well. Certainly a lot less jarring than, say, hearing the Willow theme on the trailer to Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Of course, I didn't know the origin. I really didn't remember the music from Batman and Robin much at all. I was too busy writhing in pain at the acting, characterization, plot, writing, choreography, cinematography, set design, costume design, mis-use of iconic characters... Did I miss anything?... Oh yeah, and the physics that ripped even the "movie physics suspension of disbelief" slack, especially given that they hadn't earned any suspension of disbelief slack to begin with.

If the music from B&R had been a lost work of Mozart, I still probably wouldn't have noticed.

I thought the song worked great for that particular trailer. It wasn't the Batman & Robin theme itself. It was a song the Smashing Pumpkins did for Batman & Robin (was it during the credits?), but I don't think it was rewritten or rerecorded - it sounded just the same.

Both versions of the song were on the B&R soundtrack. The faster version that is most often associated with B&R is called "The End is the Beginning is the End" and is the first song on the disc. The slower version which is used in the Watchmen trailer is called "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning", and it's the last song on the B&R soundtrack. Get it?

Funny enough, when I first saw the trailer I thought to myself, "This song's pretty cool... Where have I heard it before?" I think it worked really well with this trailer. I know nothing about the graphic novel though.

Did anyone catch the Watchmen-Motion Comic on itunes? Just get to the itunes shop and throw Watchmen into the search, then download the episode for free. Highly recommended for Watchmen fans.

Knowing nothing about the Watchmen, the trailer didn't really leave me with any sense of what the movie will be about. It was pretty, though, and I liked the music.
